So many people on here who are unwilling to give a new team a chance, and instead are ready to give up after one game.

Commentators have summed it up quite well "Torquay have been beaten by a more experienced, better paid, stronger side".
At least they kept trying at 3 - 0 down, must have been better than Saturday's performance.

**** off Scott - you don't see any games so don't have a clue what you are on about. You have no idea how bad we actually are. Its nothing to do with giving the team a chance. Listen to the strong words by Dave Thomas at the end of the game.
Did you listen to what Dave Thomas said though? apparently not by the sound of it.

He's seen 1 game and that's it we might as well fold!

Eastleigh (3) 6
TUFC (0) 1
Att: 2,009.
Hopefully the second half was better and it was the reaction the manager wanted. Going to Eastleigh was a tough ask at this stage, given they are relatively settled and have made a good start. I want to see them smarten up, improve their decision making because I think there are some decent footballers in there.

You're a right miserable **** aren't you brucie! You must lead an exciting and thrilling life to persistently insult people on here.brucie wrote:f*** off Scott - you don't see any games so don't have a clue what you are on about. You've seen ONE **** game Terry, and you've given up.
I'm listening to Dave Thomas, thanks. I'm also brainy enough to not panic after one month of games, with a team that has a combined age of about seven, and has had a bit of an erratic form of late.
You'd written the team off from the start of the season, and were slating them even before you'd seen them.
Stick to your betting site Terry - it seems to give you more pleasure than Torquay do.

The Premier League has a lot to answer for. Everyone now expects their team to win every game, sweeping the opposition aside. This is totally unrealistic. We have a new team with a manager who actually knows what he is doing, but as we are not top of the league then we are in crisis? You have to have PATIENCE, Rome wasnt built in a day.
The club hasnt got a big budget so we cant expect to be challenging for promotion. Support your club and stop moaning every time we lose.

Paul Cox's meeting with Dean Edwards about ins and outs apparently to be held soon, as Mr Cox announced in his post-match interview on Saturday, should prove to be interesting.
Just exactly who can he move out? How can anyone come in when there's no money? And the transfer window closes tomorrow evening.
A win on Saturday against Guiseley would help to steady everyone's nerves.

That little late surge just gives us a bit of momentum to take into September. We know we have a young and freshly built side, that should get better with a bit of time. If you look at where the sides we have faced so far currently sit:
2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 11th, 16th and 21st.
We have lost to the four top 6 sides, drew with 11th and beat 16th and 21st. In other words, we've had a tough month and have done exactly what you would expect for a mid table side.
The next six games are (in the order we play them):
14th, 22nd, 24th, 20th, 15th, 12th.
After these six games, we should have a much better view of where we currently stand. All of them are winnable and 11 points (3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat) should be about par.

Some people really are getting too excited. It's the end of August, September tomorrow that's when the season really starts to take shape.
