Good job we had a keeper on the bench! Good chance to show what Dan can do and I'm sure many forum posters will be happy with this.
First time Lavercombe is on the bench and he's needed!

Yes bit of a relief. I hadn't looked at the subs so was interested in which outfield player Cox had up his sleeve. A keeper on the bench. Has Cox got some sort foresight?PhilGull wrote:First time Lavercombe is on the bench and he's needed!

Think I'd take a draw right now.. Welling seem to be having a few chances of late.
Terrible game so far.
Will do a full report at the end but the Speiss sending off was harsh. Welling exposed Ex's lack of pace with a ball over the top so Speiss had to come and claim it. He jumped and caught it in the area, but a combination of his momentum and being clattered by the Welling forward too him outside the box. Handball yes no question, but it wasn't deliberate so should have been a yellow, surely?
Lavercombe hasn't had much to do, but nearly let in a comedy goal when a mix up let the Welling forward lob him. Lavercombe casually walked back to goal as the ball spun past him (within reach), bounced at hit the top of the bar. Incredible.
With us down to 10, we are purely going to be reliant on a set piece goal as I really can't see us doing anything in open play.

Paul Cox apparently fuming over the red card and someone at the game texted me and said it was a diabolical decision.
I should imagine we'll appeal the red card. The attitude of a minority of our fans towards Speiss is beyond embarrassing.

Some posters seem to have an issue with goalkeepers......

Who is the arse of a co-commentator? He sounds desperate for us to concede a second goal.
