Yeah, am no way knocking him is just a comment that stuck in my head that's all!

Having been born in the 1970's I consider that decade to be the modern era. Apologies. When would you consider that the 'modern era' commenced? I will see if I can find an example to suggest which would fit with your arbitrary constraints.
