2-0 now, Nicholson with a good ball in and Wright heads in his second.

Not the greatest half by any stretch, but for once we've actually done something positive!

First 20mins we were properly under the cosh, and it looked like it was going to be a bad, bad day. But on our first real foray forward, Shep found a bit of space to cross and Wright was able to scuff home the rebound after Fishers back heel was blocked. It was a scruffy finish but a classic goal you need when things are against you.

That took the wind out of Chesham's sails and minutes later Butlers deep corner (I'm pretty sure it was Butler, and not Nico) was firmly headed in at the back post by Wright. Also almost got his hat-trick right at the end of the half, but his sliding finish from Shep's cross/shot was just wide.

I know it's only Chesham, but so far there have been some small glimmers of hope. Fisher and Wright work well as a partnership, and Wright - although very raw - has shown good touches and runs. Heslop has done far more positive stuff as a right back than as a midfielder, and Butler/Verma are doing a half decent job.

Of course, this will all be irrelevant if we capitulate second half. But we've won a half of a game of football against a team two tiers below us - let's enjoy!

It actually looks ok. Wrights first was very scrappy but a decent header for his second.

Lavs hasnt really had much to do and apart from a mass of decent corners for them, they havent really threatened.

Pitch looks bobbly and I've had a lumpy Bovril but apart from that, its alright.

On Radio Devon Steve Breed said Tyrone is out with a dead leg - maybe out for a fortnight. Phew. I thought he had asked to leave like Spiess (who is possibly on his way to Alfreton; yuk, what a hole).

Is there any financial reward for FA Trophy progression?

My old memories of Football Manager suggest something minimal, although not sure how in tune with reality that game was back then...

£5000, I think. It'll just about pay for the trip to Cheshunt, but won't make up for lost revenue on Sunday!

Well a win is a win, and most welcome, whether this will be a confidence booster we'll see.

Sounds like Hesflop has found his true position - right back.

As opposed to left out.

Apologies for my negative comment yesterday. Hopefully tonight's win will boost confidence and be a turning point in fortunes.
