There are only a handful of games FG have not scored in, defensively they play four at the back and don't play a high line, apart from this they play quite a fluent system and are a large robust outfit who can play good football when given space.

*Out of 4 games watched most of their successful attacks came down the left side of play.

* They absorb pressure well and break play up deep in their own half, are good on the break, especially 11 Elliot Frear, a danger when running at players, good pace and technique.

* Large presence at corners and dangerous, 3 goals scored from corners when watched.

* Other main danger is 20 Joe Parkin, not a pacey individual, but has good strength and is technically good on the ball for a large framed player, plays down the side of centre backs and will cause problems on one to one situations, defences need to look at cover against him as he will score goals when given a half chance.

Defensively: Although at times they defend too deep and afford the opposition good position in their half, get away with this most times with the number of players behind the ball, they tend to be good at breaking play up and offensively taking the initiative. They did ride their luck a few times against Chester especially, were lucky to come out on top.

Offensively: Move the ball well through midfield and are quite direct in build up situations, do achieve this through passing with Frear and Parkin the main offensive dangers. Corners will have to be defended well as they are very successful in this area.

Trying to look forward to Boxing Day at Plainmoor.

Recent away form of FGR not great. Lost 2-0 at Havant in FA trophy and 1-0 at Oxford United in FA Cup. Prior to that drew 1-1 at Welling with FGR getting a late equaliser.

I am going for 1-1 draw. Gate 2,050.

Tbh, I doubt the FA trophy was part of there plans this season. Plus if you think there form is dodgy at present, you might want to look at ours. Football is a funny old game, but we are going to have to pull a rabbit( ok, a turkey it's Christmas)out of the hat to get a result on Saturday.

Just being honest and stating the obvious, a double header with FGR and Cheltenham way are about as a tough run of games for any team in this division let alone a struggling one, we're going to have to pull off a shock result amongst this run of fixtures, or hope some of the sides above don't have a good run.

I'm going Saturday and Monday expecting nothing, but you can never rule anything out football, every weekend there's shock result somewhere, lets hope it's us.

I was planning to come down but hernia operation put and end to that, we are going to have to take our chances and be resilient, it will interesting to see if KN strategic press release has made a positive or negative effect on team performances?

Let me know, he's a scout who watches many teams in the south and by chance see FG a few times last couple of months when watching other teams?

FGR, the club which requires its players to eat vegan food! Our team, on the other hand, needs to eat a lot more beef (but not immediately before a game). And beware the manure on the FGR pitch: very unhealthy if you get a cut or a scratch..

On second thoughts, cut down on the beef and just eat loads more garlic and vegetables; anything that makes our lads fart a lot. That should propel them along like rockets and put the wind up their opponents, and guarantee us at least a draw..

And a few raspberries from the crowd for the FGR team would probably be appreciated.. :~D

Very good summary of FGR by dave. I saw last month's Cheltenham v FGR match, a very entertaining game played by two sides high on confidence.I was impressed by FGR midfielder Rob Sinclair , who seemed to be everywhere.
