Blissett Signs

Post by Admiral »

Nathan Blissett has signed for TUFC on a deal initially to the end of the season.

Thoughts?

Well, we've got some striking options now! I just hope that this isn't at the expense of being able to get in another Winger and maybe CM as well as those are positions where we really need someone

11 appearances this season and 1 goal, 9 goals last season in 43 appearances, not brilliant. However he is 6ft 4in so maybe he's a decent target man.

Another good signing to add to the squad. Would have liked to see a midfield man though. Perhaps there are more in the pipeline?

Either that or perhaps we are changing tactics from playing 7/8 defenders to 7/8 attackers :goal: :goal:

Look out for the long ball tactics... :scarf: :scarf:

People being negative about this too.

Fine, you start your own club, AFC United of Torquay. You go the rest of the season with Sean **** Finch up front, and we'll play Harrad and Blissett.

Commiserations in advance on your humiliating relegation. We'll try not to let our 'thank Christ we finished 18th' party go on too long.

Matt.

Things looking good, great to see the club supporting Kevin getting players in, lets hope they all gel and the "only way is up"!

He has been with all last week - if he did show well he would not have a contract. A target man with pace (Marsh and Wright) and experience (Harrod and Fairhurst if he can get fit) alongside him.....sounds like a decent proposition to me!

Wonder if Fairhurst will be included in squad this weekend?

Another player that Nico will already know from their time together at Kidderminster. Verma will know him as well. Nico has so far signed three players, Blissett, Verma and Harrad that he already knows and Ajala is already known by some of our players from last season. It is a sensible policy because they should all fit in more quickly which is what we desperately need - time is not on our side.
I just hope that he isn't cup tied and can play on Saturday.

Good signing and will compliment our current roster nicely. Nice to have options to change things around in an area we have been woefully lacking in for a while.

A couple more additions to midfield and we will be there or thereabouts I reckon.
Mmmmmm, beeeeeeeer.

5 strikers in theory then now, once Fairhurst is back fit. Wright can also play wider if needed.

I think we are crying out for Luke Young's replacement and another winger. Anything else would be a bonus, but we're badly lacking in these areas, both in numbers and quality.

Blissett is 25 and should be in his prime.

His scoring record is 22 goals in 112 games so hardly prolific but that is why he has signed for Torquay.

I always think that this type of player, very tall and strong, can suddenly catch fire. It is all about confidence and attitude.

Lets hope he has ability. Ryan Bowman was not too popular but we have missed his goals so lets hope Harrad and Blissett can between them make us hard to defend against.

Could be a decent signing but can't help but feel this alters the balance of the side somewhat. Maybe signals the departure of marsh or fairhurst? Or the deployment of wright in a wide role? We really need a CM.
