Although I'm on the positive /supportive wing I think we are down. Obviously anything can happen and it usually does for us but the probability is relegation.

But longterm, if we support this board who ARE fans I think we will be successful again. Might not be for a few seasons and it will depend on us fans and IF we are willing to stick with it.

The probability of winning the next 4 games isn't in our favour. Anyone gonna put a decent bet on? You perhaps Brucie as you once stated on here you can win more than lose.

Staying up or staying down is dependent not so much upon who's in charge but how much money is available. Agreed, the right decisions about that money must be made, but if the club has insufficient revenue it will be unlikely to put together a squad to win a promotion or even to survive as a club (which is the first priority).

The present board recognises this. I'm sure the local authority also recognises the importance of a league club as an asset and a positive factor in the development of the local economy, sports, and society generally. Which is why, looking to the future, they should be seriously examining the possibility of a new stadium with increased revenue streams, with or without the involvement of US developers.

But one step at a time. Win the next four league games..

Good win tonight but Boreham Wood won so we're now 12 points from safety with a few games in hand.

The league game on the 27th will now be moved as the Trophy is on that day.

if we win the next game that will be two wins on the trot. the momentum will have started. then we will need to build on that to win the next one to make it three on the trot. anything can happen from there on.

The issue is though that we will now revert to type and lose the next league game. It seems that Nicholson has his mind set on playing at Wembley rather than staying up.

looking at the relative standings of the teams above us and how their season is panning out.. I notice a few of things.
We dealt Macclesfeild a real blow last night. their recent run of form has been awful and they couldn't buy a win at a car boot sale. Bromley are also in a poor run of form and like Macca have lost 7 out of their last ten.
I would expect Halifax to pull clear shortly as they can win their games and have few losses, in fact they only lost one in the last ten.. dropping points when in the lead i think is their main problem.
which leaves a couple of teams who are possibly going to be in the mix with us and gives us the chance for hope. Welling look to be in serious trouble and haven't had a win at all in the last ten
Kiddy have put a run of three straight wins together lately but lost the last game and I would hope this means they are on the road to another bad run to hopefully go below us.
of the rest.
Altrincham look to be in trouble, They can't win a game. last time they won two back to back was in September. apart from some solitary wins most of their problem is draws, too many and a lot of defeats. they are the best hope to catch.
Boring Wood. their problem like ours is a fixture pile up. 5 have been postponed in the last 6 weeks. they will have to play catch up like us. will this derail them. They haven't won in the league this year, last one being boxing day and the previous win was way back on the 10th November.. way too many draws and no wins will pull them into last 4.
There is then a bit of a gap to Guisley and Barrow. Guisley have lost 5 out of ten and have put in three wins..not a team for draws. I think they will just escape. Barrow on the other hand need to watch out as again their main problem is too many draws instead of wins. although they have lost only 4 out of the last ten they need to be careful that one point a game doesn't mean they stay up. Guisley have a very tough end of the season and play us on the last day. this could be a real decider. Barrow have a real stinker for the next three games playing FGR, Braintree and Eastleigh. I can't see them picking up any points there. but they may get the odd draw. against possibly Braintree or Eastleigh. both clubs have hit a sticky patch, We also play them on the penultimate game at home. this is also a 6 pointer. They have to really hard matches at the end of the season and if we can put in a run of form then make that three hard matches. It will also be a bit of satisfaction to beat Paul Cox.
Bromley are only out of the last 4 because of a very good run of results in September and October winning 7 on the bounce. (I don't want to even look at that run) since then they have apart from the odd win been in free fall, and again we have another 6 pointer with them 3rd game from the end of the season. they have a reasonable run in to the end but with only draws on the table and no wins, will they not fall into trouble and possibly the last four. Unless they start to win a couple of games i think they will go down. and if we have put a run of form on then its the last 4 games that make the run in so important for us.
The most important games for us now are the next 5 and the last 3. they should be wins against our main rivals for the drop. We actually have a decent run to the end of the season. playing the bottom set i.e. the main rivals for relegation and in the last 8 not including Bromley whom I expect to be in the last 8 in the next fortnight. thats 9 winnable games against the bottom 8. plus any bonus points we can pick up from either or both of Southport and Aldershot. any wins or draws from the rest will be a huge boost. Lets see how we can gains points in the next 5 games. they are the most important in out history.
Our main problem is whether we can cope with 8 games in march. it either will make us or break us.. a run of form and march will be Brilliant. the alternative i don't want to think about.

Let's face it the chances are that none of these players will be here next season irrespective of which division we are in. So a possible chance to play at Wembley is probably more important to them than us staying up.

We've been saying its make or bream for a long time, but now it is. If by some miracle we win the next 2, then the situation looks salvageable. That would put us 6 points off Borehamwood, and a maximum of 3 points off Welling, and possibly level, depending on their result on Saturday, with 2 games in hand on both. We could be above Kiddie and 4 points off Halifax, but that depends on their results, but will have 2 games in hand on both either way. Halifax are playing Grimsby and Braintree, so I'd like to think they won't pick up maximum points.

So if we win both games, with the games in hand (it's 4 over Alty) and with Kiddie, Halifax and Alty still to play, its almost in our hands. If we don't win the next 2, and particularly if we lose on Saturday, then it is absolutely all over.

Last chance saloon. I bet we bloody win on Saturday, its the hope that kills you!!

So you've just talked yourself in believing we can stay up, then? ;-) It certainly reads do-able on paper ! It's a funny ol' game as they say. Sometime ago, I rashly posted that Woking were in freefall and could be dragged into the relegation battle. Then all of a sudden they started winning again and now they are near the play offs. Similarly, Guisley looked to be heading downwards and they picked up a couple of wins to steady themselves. And then there's Kidderminster ..... okay, they lost last night as you say, but that was at Cheltenham. I think the league this season is even more unpredictable than usual and there are going to be more twists and turns before the end so prepare for a rollercoaster ride. We HAVE to start winning our home games to stand any chance. I just hope it doesn't all come down to our final game away to Guisley and our top scorer, James Hurst.

You can say a lot with stats and the one that worries me is that we have only won one of our last 15 league games.

I just hope we don't go down without a fight.

I actually think the easiest run-ins are the ones against mid table sides who are safe from relegation but have no hope of reaching the playoffs. Playing against other relegation sides mean they will be fighting hard for every point - just like us (I hope!).
