Not sure about this tbh.northlondongull wrote:I am going for a 2-1 win tonight with Blissett back on the score sheet as well as Racchi.
I have great respect for Braintree and what they have achieved with a part time side but I feel that this new look Torquay team in more than capable of winning tonight. They are travelling across the country and I think that our full time status should be an advantage when playing 2 games in 4 days.
We now have the absolute luxury of having more than 11 decent players so with Verma, Wright and Allen we have options to change things off the bench. I would go with the same team that won at the weekend and see how it goes. Wright deserves a decent run out.
COYY
After reading the reports from Saturday, I'd drop Ajala to the bench.

Tonight will be a real test of Nico's fitness regime.
Braintree are flying, and almost certainly are a better footballing (or certainly more effective footballing) side than we are. But you can't hide from the fact they are part time. Now I know that in this day and age that doesn't mean they are a team of bakers who were at work this morning, but it's not ideal preparation for them.
Both sides are going to be tired, but our full-time status SHOULD give us the edge in those stakes. If we are out-run tonight, then that's a black mark against Nico for me.
I think it will be either a bore draw or a tight 0-1 defeat unfortunately

The realist 'rest' changes would be Wright for Harrad, Allen for Ajala and Verma for another CM.
I wouldn't change a winning team, although I would consider bringing Allen in if fit. Richards was a little slow at closing down on Saturday so maybe Verma should return for this one.
Hoping for 3 points, although a draw wouldn't be the end of the world if other results go our way.

Yellow card for Lavercombe, very very lucky not to be sent off apparently.

Blissett off - injury.
Thank goodness our bench looks so much stronger than it did.

Butler has just take a goal kick rather than Lavercombe, I really really hope he is not carrying a knock.
But still, just our luck that out in-form player gets injuredScott Brehaut wrote:Blissett off - injury.

I'd say that "interesting" is just about the most positive way that half could be interpreted for Aldershot.Jeff wrote: But still, just our luck that out in-form player gets injured
