Braintree v Torquay mon 29th

Post by Dave »

It seems to have escaped our notice there's game today, anyone can do these threads, don't be shy have go, I can not guarantee being able to attend match's past the end of September, if that comes to pass, then I'm not the best person to write match threads in the manner I have for most of the last two seasons,I will do them as when I have time up to that point.

This will be short and sweet however.

Current form

Braintree; D-L-L-W-L

9 Aug Braintree 1 - 1 Eastleigh
13 Aug Braintree 1 - 3 Macclesfield
16 Aug Maidstone 2 - 1 Braintree
20 Aug Braintree 2 - 0 Aldershot Town
27 Aug Barrow 2 - 1 Braintree

Current form

Torquay United; W-D-L-L-W

9 Aug Torquay Utd 1 - 0 Bromley
13 Aug Torquay Utd 1 - 1 Barrow
16 Aug Sutton 2 - 0 Torquay Utd
20 Aug North Ferriby 1- 0 Torquay Utd
27 Aug Torquay Utd 2 - 1 Dover Athletic

So far this season our team have had mixed fortunes, unbeaten at home with a 7 from 9 point return which is decent enough, but away from Plainmoor things haven't gone so well. To pick up all three points our team are going have do something they've not managed this season, that's score a goal away from home.

They're going have to do something also, a Torquay United team has never managed, that's score a goal at Cressing road. Braintree haven't had the best of starts either, having some what been victims of their own success, last season saw them finish third in the league, but beaten play-off semi-finalists, the lost of their manager Danny Cowley to Lincoln, and most of their best players, this has seen The Iron struggle to settle in a new team, under new management.

We've never beaten Braintree, if our team can build on Saturday's performance, they've got a good chance of setting that record straight in this match.

Head to Head

20.12.2014 Braintree Town 2-0 Torquay United
17.03.2015 Torquay United 1-5 Braintree Town
28.11.2015 Braintree Town 0-0 Torquay United
08.03.2016 Torquay United 0-0 Braintree Town

Sun shining in Essex this morning. A bit of a contrast to weather for last season's fixture.
Looking forward to my first match of the season.

Looks like Courtney Richards is injured. Sam Chaney in the only change.

Reid scores again, and we've finally scored at Braintree.

Not a very strong midfield. Hopefully they'll keep hold of the ball for long periods.
