I've signed the petition - number 28.
But we need many many more signatures to show strength of feeling. It needs to run into thousands.
Everyone needs to put it on social media and get the word around. I will contact the FSF (assuming no one else has).

Nothing like an ill-informed rant.........Terry Henry wrote: ↑12 Jan 2017, 11:01 Would it have been a good idea to let people know before the upgrade that they'd have to clear cache/cookies? Traffic/posts have gone down massively, so it's not really applicable to imply the upgrade (what's changed?) has gone well with an of the cuff 'well, the server is working fine' comment.
And telling people to remove *all* cookies and cache is totally OTT.

No it would have been idiotic to have not upgraded and be on older weaker software. Comments like this remind me that I was right to have done this on a morning off work rather than lose a night sleep to do the update, as I usually do.Terry Henry wrote: ↑12 Jan 2017, 11:01 Would it have been a good idea to let people know before the upgrade that they'd have to clear cache/cookies? I do this in my spare time and have a young family, life etc. Traffic hasn't gone down at all, there were 2 hours of maintenance mode between 10am and noon on Monday.
Full features of the update can be found here: https://www.phpbb.com/about/launch/
Feel free to explain to people that aren't confident on computers how to remove domain specific cookies and cache if you like - it's an open forum.
Have a nice day.
You do a great job Louis, thanks to all that give their time up for this forum

Guys, it's obvious people have been struggling to get on here and post. I couldn't care less if you agree or not, but If you think a simple message in advance wouldn't have helped people to understand what to do, that is fine and you carry on.

I didn't know this would need to happen it's never happened before on previous releases. I'll add it to my maintenance mode message next time.Terry Henry wrote: ↑12 Jan 2017, 15:07 Guys, it's obvious people have been struggling to get on here and post. Signed. Still only 39!!
Signed. 41 now.
Be patient. People have been at work.
If everyone on all 3 forums signs we can surely hit at least 500. It needs to be put on Facebook as that will get a wider audience. Not on there myself.
