Southport v Torquay 11.03.17
Is this match the most important in our history. Some like myself would say we are down already, BUT others would look at the league table and see we have a game in hand on the teams above and play better against the higher placed teams in the league with the run in we have, so all is well.
If there was ever a must win match in Torquay United's history, this is the one. Forget the so called 6 pointers against Sutton and guiesley , southport is a season decider. Draw or lose we are gone.

Obviously not 'gone' if we lose.
However, it is a big game and a win would define the run in, which otherwise will be defined by luck; with us surviving or not based on a lucky break or not. A win would give us a greater say in our destiny.

A word to the wise. I am not saying that Nico deserves to stay in his job, but when Southport sacked Steve Burr in January they were one point above the drop zone, now they are six points adrift from safety.

Not the most important game in our history...we can lose and still survive. Possibly the most important game in Nicholson rein....can't see losing and surviving for him..that's not what I want us to win.

If Nico was going to be replaced it would have happened by now.westyorkshiregull wrote: ↑10 Mar 2017, 21:57 Not the most important game in our history...we can lose and still survive. Agreed ....but even if lose and not replaced his stance and position becomes all the more highlighted....everything I say anti Nicho is with some guilt as not had the best tools given to him with finance ect

Directors of football clubs change their minds when it comes to releasing or retaining managers. A vote of confidence one week can be the sack the next. If stories earlier this week were true Graham Westley at Hereford had two more games to turn results but two days later he was history.
Closer to home Nicholson had that vote on Monday; lose today and maybe, if Southampton Gull is correct in his assertion that Harrop is 'running the show', Harrop will become caretaker till the end of the season.

For the sake of the fans, we need a win today. Last seasons heroics wont happen again without the fans backing, and that is missing now.

This will be very hard but Southport have conceded 75 goals this season 35 of them at Home.
We need to be clinical in front of goal, first to every ball, not a poor second, and strong in defence.
We are good enough at our best and today we have to be at our best if we really want 3 points.
Good luck lads.

Today is simple, in it is win or bust, if you get beat at home by Sutton with out keeper, Guiseley with 10 men, and you can't beat Southport anywhere home, away or neutral ground in their current form, then you've got no chance.
Agree with Forrest gull the team does need the backing of fans, especially at home, however all the goodwill from last season has been lost, not sure it's going to be won back. Us fans don't trust the new owners, and to be fair whilst they've done nothing bad, they've not done anything to win that trust either, and right now, think no one, us fans, and more importantly KN don't trust the players to do a job.
All that spell's only disaster, it needed quick action over the last fortnight, either back Nicho with money, or got shot of KN and backed a new manager with money, it didn't happen, so we're in the lap of the gods now.

If they play like they did in the first half last week for the whole 90mins today they will win.portugull wrote: ↑11 Mar 2017, 11:14 This will be very hard but Southport have conceded 75 goals this season 35 of them at Home.

But we know this is TUFC.
A win today would at least mean that our destiny is still in our own hands.
