TUFC 2017/18 Squad
I wouldn't be surprised to see us not sign a back-up left back. McGinty can apparently play there (although wouldn't be ideal), and I assume that KN will be registering himself as a player again and keeping himself in shape? Providing we sign a decent first choice, I wouldn't expect us to carry more than 3 players capable of playing LB

I see Bromley have signed former Nottingham Forest and Torquay United loanee midfielder Josh Rees. Did he slip the net - I would have liked him to have signed for Torquay.

Richards is described in this week's Non-League paper* as being 'without a club' so I imagine he's off for good.
*The article was about a training camp for non-league players organised (and funded) by Jamie Vardy to try and help get them spotted by league clubs. The players had sessions run by various top flight coaches and scouts from the top 4 divisions were in attendance.

I agree, he was the unsung hero of Great Escape #1. Doing to the dirty wok in midfield.MellowYellow wrote: ↑20 Jun 2017, 15:01 I see Bromley have signed former Nottingham Forest and Torquay United loanee midfielder Josh Rees. Did he slip the net - I would have liked him to have signed for Torquay.

We've heard nothing from the Club. I would not be particularly upset if, having missed our deadline for signing by at least a couple of weeks, he takes his services elsewhere and we get an upgrade on a wholehearted but extremely limited player. We need to make some more signings sharpish as the pre-season approaches. Obviously a 'keeper wouldn't go amiss.RussianGull wrote: ↑21 Jun 2017, 09:47 Richards is described in this week's Non-League paper* as being 'without a club' so I imagine he's off for good.

Absolutely. Good luck to him. Honest pro. Time to get that upgrade on Richards now that we know Macclesfield pay more. Have already read an article that said earlier in his career Higgins paid for nothing. Rejections of our offers by those offered deals happening. I expect we are offering less than most, but may need to adjust that policy to get a full squad, perhaps? Next week or two are crucial for squad building.Jeff wrote: ↑21 Jun 2017, 13:08 http://mobile.mtfc.co.uk/news/article/2 ... 31596.aspx
At least we know and can move on now

Doesn't necessarily follow that he'll earn more but it does mean he can travel to and fro' everyday from home rather than dossing in an out of season seaside town all winter.
Whilst Richards may not be a fans favourite he did a job which is needed at this level. I would trust him far more in a two man midfield than Lathrope (who IMO has never been able to step up to anything other than a holding role with two others ahead of him). We now need to find a ball winner who covers much yardage to replace him. Not as easy as it seems.

Agreed!
I liked Courtney, but I think Youngy will flourish if he doesn't has to track back as often to cover Courtney's sluggishness.
