TUFC 2017/18 Squad
I have heard that it could be another striker or left back, but not 100% sure it will happen today, lets keep our fingers crossed.
Well seemingly (would like it to be proved wrong with late news) another day gone without adding to the 11 on the books. Trying to stay positive but cannot help but think we are going to end up relying on the best of the scraps from trialists who can find no better option than to roll the dice in the hope of a contract with us.
Pre-season starts tomorrow and we seem ill prepared for it.

They have just put an update on the website regarding online changes next season, however right at the end it says "All this for one evening...and we've got a new player to announce as well...very soon"
My guess - it will be Jamie Reid!

Good signing that. Really like the look of our defensive unit at the moment, just need to bolster it up with some decent reserves
Interestingly in his Wikipedia page ... Torquay United seems to get more mentions than any of the clubs he has previously played for ... must have always been destined to end up here I reckon!Bleeper wrote: ↑27 Jun 2017, 20:54 WRONG!

I am starting to wonder if Nicho is thinking about playing 5 at the back with Higgins and Davis both being attacking full backs and having 3 strong centre backs. Would be interesting to see in this league but would need a few more back ups defensively to adopt it.

That's because he has played against us several times and usually it was against us he made an impression whether for coming back from Injury or coming back from being dropped for being sent off etc. seems the fans of Oxford liked him and Cheltenham did too even though they didnt see too much of him. if he is truly over his injuries then we should have a cracking player on our hands. Echoes of Previous wingers come to mind like Peter Coffil and the black winger who went to Bristol Rovers who's name escapes me right now. he was really good to. so Welcome Liam and I hope you find us a good place to finish your career
Always Look on the bright side of life

I've got a Swedish mate who watches GAIS home and away who says he's one of the best players they've had in the last couple of seasons. He said he got injured and didn't benefit from crap players around him.
They're a second division side. The standard must be pretty dire.
This said, he could be an excellent signing. If latheniel Rowe turner signed for GAIS I wouldn't be telling my mate he was a good player...

Squad is now taking shape, building from the back at least - and our back 5 looks a lot better than last year.
Clarke and Moore is quite close, but we do probably have a more consistent keeper now.
Gowling is an improvement on Gallifuoco, and a lot more experienced.
Davis is an improvement on LRT.
Higgins an improvement over not having a permanent right back last year.
McGinty did well last season and will also be one year older, wiser and have better, experienced, vocal players around (and behind) him.
We're short of a few attacking players, but having the back 5 in place for pre-season is great. Assuming that Lathrope, Young, Gosling and at least one of the forwards will start we're only one or two signings from a starting XI. There's still time to add more, as well as trialists starting from tomorrow and possibly a loan or two. Given the rules on loan signings we'll probably have a pretty small squad again and bring in a short-term loanee when required.

I think we need another central midfielder too,
Can't see lathrope staying injury free, we could do with someone like a Danny racchi
