St Lukes Cup vs Cullompton Rangers

Post by Bristol_Gull »

Torquay have been drawn away to Cullompton Rangers in the St. Lukes Challenge Cup.

The game will take place on Tuesday, September 19 (kick-off 7:30pm)

Cullompton are currently 19th / 20 in the South West Peninsula League – Premier Division, only above Witheridge FC who had 4 points deducted for failing to be able to field a team for their fixture against Falmouth!

SURELY...we can beat a team at this level?!

Witheridge are completely useless this season and are considering pulling out of the league. if we cannot beat a team which is comparable with them then we might as well pack it in - pointless competition though.

When was the last time a Torquay United team won a cup game?

The last time the men's team won was February 2016 at Macclesfield in the FA Trophy. Not won in the FA Cup sine November 2011 - a 3-1 win at Chesterfield.

If I was manager I would play the first team to get some confidence.

Looks like we didn't learn anything that we didn't already know?!

Was anyone at the game...

Interested if any of the squad stood out despite the result?

Frustrating game we were the far better side the first 30 mins then we just ran out of ideas. Fallon and Keating don't seem to have any understanding. The new wide player Williams looked a different class at times. Youngsters that came on did well the 15 Jaydon and a Harry at the back looked good for the future. It's a shame about now! Lost on pens.
