Agree. Red warning for snow today for the SW and a football match expected to take place less than 48 hours later? Ain't gonna happen. In fact i expect the whole football programme for the weekend will be decimated by the weather with a number of postponements.

With Devon and Somerset under a Red Alert from 3pm today into tomorrow, Saturday's game looks under serious doubt. I reckon it'll be called off tomorrow to save Fylde from travelling.

Quite possibly , Yorkshire is snowed under and it's 6 inches where I live , travelling down might be a issue possible let alone weather in the bay

You could argue that anybody who travels across the country for a football match when the country is on it's knees due to horrendous weather is a die hard fan. I'd say they were adding to the burden of the emergency services, rescue and breakdown services and are making an unnecessary journey.westyorkshiregull wrote: ↑01 Mar 2018, 09:26 Quite possibly , Yorkshire is snowed under and it's 6 inches where I live , travelling down might be a issue possible let alone weather in the bay
Any Fylde fan even contemplating travelling down needs their head looking at as do footy fans across the country who are thinking of putting extra strain on the road networks by travelling fair distances to games this weekend.
IF IT'S NOT VITAL TO TRAVEL THEN DON'T DO SO!! Attending a football match isn't vital. Help out the emergency services for once, stop being selfish and stay at home unless you are local to your chosen match.

I totally agree with Yorkieandy.
Very ,very unlikely the Match will be on particularly because the Police, quite rightly, are blocking the Motorways.
Fylde will not be able to travel and the gate in this weather even if the pitch was just playable would be way down.
Heavy snow due soon in Devon. No chance. Gives Josh Gowling another week to get fit.

Doesn't want to put his head on a ball either ~ watch clips of him playing and you'll see what I mean
Pitches will be bone hard now - don't reckon we will see Gowling till November.
Bone hard pitches? Its not the 80's Brucie, the pitch is 99 % well grassed even if the weather did stay relatively
dry from now on
True Gowling wont play at Maidstone esp with Leyton Orient on the tuesday after
As for that bloke Young Merse , his Mum wont let him play if the weather stays as cold as this
I remember a home game v Crewe on March 1st 1986 played on a snow covered hard pitch, just checked the
gate, was 850

What was score in that game in 1986. I don't remember it , 85-86 was my first full season , remember someway through we got the rotolok logo added. Kenny Allen went off to Swindon after a fall out with Webb.
It was 0-0 , David Fry was in goal, Mario Walsh and Steve Phillips up front, Mark Loram played but apart
from him was a pretty awful side
