Coming through the ranks of Cardiff and playing football league matches for Port Vale, Newport and Colchester gives us the credentials of O'Sullivan being a genuine footballer player - quality is down to opinion. Yes, he had a dreadful start to his loan period with us but that does not necessarily make him a bad player. As a creative box-to-box midfielder aged only 23, it can be seen with the naked eye that he has a good touch, awareness and technique that needs little development but other than to nurture that talent coupled with a steeliness required to play the game. What we should be really asking ourselves is as to whether O'Sullivan, a Welsh international at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level and former Welsh Young Footballer of the Year, would want to drop from league football back into the generally scrappy environs of underfunded grassroots 'regional' football. This is our reality! This is our nemesis in attracting players!
We could ask them to turn it into a five a side fixture...

According to DT on DevonLive there could be a busy week ahead of transfer activity.
One player has signed subject to a strict medical after the weekend. McGinty and Dorel are off while Davis could be staying.
Aaron Kuhl, on the way back from injury, is on the radar.

If Mr 'I know what it takes' Owers is struggling to find players, then why not let family members play: re Aaron Kuhl- after all we are a family friendly club. What say you Merse , maybe your son could come down and play a few games to help out Mr 'Recruitment is King' Owers.
Aaron Kuhl could potentially be a good signing tbf. Would take a while before he's fully fit, but was rated as having decent potential at one point.

Look, it's been an extremely painful start to the summer in regards to summer signings. However, if all of this speak of an influx of players this week does happen. Then I personally will welcome them and give them pre season to prove they're up for the forthcoming campaign. If it's true about Dorel not staying then that's a real kick in the teeth as he was my POTY last season. Not too bothered about hoof ball Gints imo. Davies should be a very solid player at this level. Also I'm suprised no one has mentioned River Allen. Played a fair few games for Truro last year and has experience at League 2 with Argyle, then Gateshead in the premier. At 22 he could be a decent addition as our midfield is completely non existent so far. Will be interesting who the players are this week.
Looking at footage of Aaron Kuhl, he could be a real capture if he returns to full fitness

The fact of the matter is we are in competition with other full time professional clubs to recruit players. Given our position we are one of the very least attractive clubs to sign for. Players looking for full time contracts will naturally consider the 120 plus full time clubs above us before even beginning to give us the once over. Hence we are unlikely to see a full strength squad until very close to the seasons start.
I think it's safe to say 100 of those 120 clubs will not be looking at or offering contracts to players that we will be looking at.....Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑16 Jun 2018, 21:18 The fact of the matter is we are in competition with other full time professional clubs to recruit players. No but we are in competition with about 40 of them (national league and league 2) therefore we will probably be waiting for those clubs to finish their recruitment before we get our pick if the left overs. Staying full time may not have been the best strategy because I would expect the best part time teams to be more than capable of beating the worst full time teams.
