Torquay United v Bath City 7/8/2018

Post by arcadia »

We welcome Bath City to Plainmoor tomorrow night, Jerry Gill a late developer as a player is manager after taking over from Garry Owers last season.
Jerry spent two years as a player at youth level at Bristol Rovers but never made it there and broke into the football league with Birmingham City until an injury a forced him out of the playing side. Jerry also was a youth coach at Wolves and was in the last ten for the Norwich City coaching job when 80 applied.
This is his first managers job and as a friend wish him well but not tomorrow night.

what is going on with the date here? shouldn't it be 7/8? (or 8/7 if you insist on living in America, as some of us do)

According to the OS, we played Bath City away on Saturday and not Chelmsford City! It must have all been a dream.

I wonder if DevonLive/HE (otherwise known as The Exeter City Fan Club) will deign to give us a match report this time?

In the old days we would have dismissed the idea of losing to a part-time team even in the cup. Now we play them every week. I like to think our extra energy levels from being a professional, full time team will make the difference in the last quarter of every game. 4-1 is my prediction.

Anything other than 3 points tonight will be disappointing for me. I have high expectations with this squad in this league.

I concur, a win at home is a must... I expect 7 points from 9 after 3 games...

Totally agree. If we end the week with 7 points it will be a positive start. No excuses we must win our home games.

Wish I could be there. Get behind these Guys even though it'll be up and down. Let's see if we can get some confidence building in the squad.
I hope a decent crowd turns up. Go Torquay ! Bedtime ATB.

Not only must we win, we should be looking for comprehensive wins with a good number of clean sheets if we are really going to challenge this season.

At least 2-0 is required to get the ball rolling. Anything less will be disappointing.
