As much as id like Owers to leave, at the end of the day he’s still human and whoever threw hot coffee over him should be ashamed overall. Yes 2 wrongs don’t make a right and if he did react and punch the fan then yes he’s also in the wrong. Let’s be real though anyone would react like that.

Just back from Evesham, and a very slight improvement from the last game, however, it is now 6 hours and 37 minutes since the last goal. OMG!! I just cannot see where they are going to come from! Gloucester were there for the taking today, and yet we never really looked like scoring, despite bossing the game for long periods. We were on the wrong end of most of the referees decisions, but have the squad to beat the likes of Gloucester. Another great turn out from the yellow army, but let down by some flare throwing, which doesn't exactly help. As I keep saying a creative midfield player and a target man, is desperately needed NOW!!!! COYG......

Physical abuse - regardless of whether it was coffee or beer - should absolutely not be tolerated. The resort of idiots.

Owers and the team should be ashamed of themselves, but I suspect we'll just hear that the team are working hard and somebody comedian will say 'well, we've only conceded 3 times!'.

Hell, if we're going to suck, at least let us suck in a fun way. Lose every game 5-4!

But, despite the embarrassment of losing at Plainmoor, (oh,and nice of your fans to spit on our manager)we are doing OK for a team of piss heads picked at the pub car park on a Saturday morning to play in a pub league.
Keep faith in GO. I'm sure he will take you to where you deserve to be.
Bit harsh.

have you had a bad day?

Embarrassed to be a Torquay supporter today, and for a change, it has nothing to do with the football.
4 flares thrown onto the pitch by mindless morons, we are Torquay United not boca frigging juniors. Some kids visibly distressed by the boorish behaviour.
Then I thought Gary Owers had a beer thrown at him at the end, apparently it was hot coffee. Gary then ended up in with the crowd in a confrontation with said supporter who will now be barred hopefully. Yeah he may nor be doing a good job, but that must be bordering on assault.
It appears that the morons mentioned above, came on their own bus and were escorted out by the local constabulary. Witnessed at least three supporters escorted marched out.
Gloucester city were a lovely welcoming club, but obviously weren't set up for a 750 attendance when they usually get 200.
Torquay United is a very toxic brand these days.

Burnhamgull wrote: 27 Aug 2018, 19:33 You're absolutely right. criminal acts should not be tolerated but it's interesting how much the fans tolerate the shambles at Plainmoor.

We should all unite behind Owers. It's like he said, the tide must turn soon so lets all turn up at Plainmoor and give Reid and co our complete support for 90+ minutes.

Hurrah!
You were the one that defended/supported the criminal act in the first place.

Nobody is on here defending Owers, in fact I don’t think I have seen so many of us agreeing with each other in the fact that he must go, either by walking (I would respect him slightly more for doing that) or by being sacked. Sadly neither action will happen.

What many of us are also united about is that physical abuse against anybody for simply doing their job, no matter how shit they are, cannot and should not happen. People like you, defending such an action, should and have been called out.
I don’t understand why you can’t see that? We’re not happy clappy, but we don’t support mindless thugs either. Hopefully whomever it was will get banned from Plainmoor as well as banned from using the travel club etc. I certainly don’t want mindless, knuckle dragging **** representing my club, and tarring us all with the same brush.

Well...... I did regret going! What a waste of an afternoon. Absolutely shocking performance, long ball into the channel for Reid or keating to try and get hold of, even though the 2 big centre halves kept heading it away, however we kept doing it. Asa hall should be a crab, he goes sideways all the time if not, then he tries a Hollywood pass which never paid off. The keeper takes an age to release the ball stopping any chance of a counter attack, Davies does the same turn inside every time he gets the ball. There’s no chance of promotion or playoffs with the manager playing this type of football.
There’s no other team in the world that would keep this clown as manager after the start of the season we’ve had!

As for the morons throwing flares, ban the lot, bloody idiots, and the guy whobthrew the coffee, stupidity, why waste a perfectly good coffee throwing it at a muppet! Stupid thing to do, eapecially when there was children all around. Hope they all get banned.

Been a long time since I've been to a game and it'll be a long time till I go again. Embarrassing on and off the pitch. On it the players looked clueless, no direction, no cutting edge just terrible for a full time squad. Off it you had a silly bunch of children chucking flares that a proper club would have ran out of there by now. Our own fans should have given them a good hiding.
From the club of the early 90s when I was a regular the club has become a disgrace now. They are supposedly strapped for cash but I can't remember the last time the online shop worked? So I buy stuff and spend money on local clubs in the Midlands and Torquay get nothing. Which from what I saw today is all they deserve.
Hats off to all of you who have stuck and continue to stick by them but honestly it looks like a lost cause right now.

OWERS POST GAME INTERVIEW: “Whatever the circumstances, the scenes at the end has no place in football. I’m proud of my career and proud to be manager here. I’ll be 50 in a couple of weeks and you don’t expect to walk off football pitches with red hot cups of tea thrown in your face.”

Think my gran could do a better job than Owers but what happened at the end is a **** disgrace. Probably some chav from depths of TQ #COYY

The scenes at the end were bad, and I for one don’t want my son seeing such things, but let’s not let it distract us from the football. That was a bloody shocking performance!!! He should resign or at best be sacked in the morning!
