Last time we played Hemel was in the FA Trophy in Jan 2015, we won 2-0, can we repeat that? https://torquayfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7899

Flaming well better!
5-0
The two new lads with one each. One each for whichever two strikers start and one of the other midfielders finally chipping in with a goal.
1500 on the gate. No coffee spilled.

In comparison to our dismal displays against Gloucester, Hampton, Slough and Oxford - Hemel Hempstead are one of the more solid teams in the league. Note I did not say 'better' as like most of the teams in this league they are not gifted with outstanding talent, but they play as a unit and put in a shift. This 'solid' formula has been enough to date for lower standard teams to curtail our bid for promotion. After 398 minutes of Owers' Gulls firing more 'blanks' it's time he stopped anointing the players with his vasectomy sterile solution.
If Kevgulls predication of a 5-0 against Hemel Hempstead comes to fruition (not beyond the realms of possibility) followed by goal scoring feasts against the Chippenham and Hungerford then a lot of debate on Owers and the players will fade into a distant memory. Another snoozefest display, will show our promotion promise as being nothing less than an abstract failure. Life is about opportunities and to date Owers as manager of Torquay Utd has had 45 of them with a success rate of 12. If he continues to spiral his win rate down to lowest ever recorded (particularly at NLS level), then even those faithful to Owers will have to admit 'enough is enough'.

Owers must get the players really up for these games but he doesn't seem to be the sort of manager that can do this ! And we must treat every game as cup finals as the opposition do. Did anyone notice the reaction
on the Hampton bench at the final whistle last week, you would have thought they had just won the bloody league. How badly do the Torquay players want to win games this season ? Not badly enough at the moment it seems

Your last roll of the dice Mr. Owers. A minimum of a 2-0 win is required to even scratch the surface of the lost faith in you. No excuses or "the grass was tufty" bullcrap, you have to WIN.
As for the Evesham/Gloucester incident. It's a results business. Owers has had a year to get it right and failed miserably. I draw the line at assault but verbals are fine by me. He deserves the wrath he has drawn upon himself and it is completely self inflicted. If he can't take the heat, he's in the wrong job. He's got away very lightly IMO.

Just rode my motorbike up Bronshill Road and outside the Doctors' Surgery temporary traffic lights are being set up. For those who park in the Doctors', you might not.

Not sounding very good, I can hear the crowd getting restless.
Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.
At the game, bass made two saves, hemel missed an open goal, and just shot wide, atmosphere gone ugly, this carries on we're going to get a right stuffing here. Hi

Here we go again. Same old Torquay. We’re lucky not to be 3/4 nil down already.
20 mins on the clock and the boos have already started.
1 positive our new no 21 - Opi Edwards.
