New South Devon Link?

Post by Busterjames »

Does anyone who any more detail on what’s been quoted on the main website and twitter?
Does this mean the Torquay Academy School link has been ended? :keepie:

All it says on the website at this stage is:

"South Devon College and Torquay United Football Club are excited to announce a brand new partnership which will develop opportunities to inspire the local community"

Then links to this video:

Not sure what to make of it - more details to follow it also says.

could be a new place for the club to train, or an academy/ladies link? Perhaps young students will have the chance to get involved in the club in a variety of ways - hopefully it will be something positive! :scarf:

I've always thought this regarding a link with a local school/college, there is a large variety of ways they could help as you have stated - even simple things such as students at SDC who are studying video editing/media production could be involved with the editing of our highlights, also I'm sure there are security courses at the college where they could be involved in stewarding or something. Imo, would be great experience for them and would take the workload off us - probably be better in some aspects too!

I think that a link there would be amazing.
Chris Todd is there and a million miles better than Oggy and that idiot Grincell who has always slated the Club until it comes to the option of profiting from it!
Feel sorry for the young lad Olaf as he looks like he has ability but you know these coaches will jump on the bandwagon and claim others are just as good purely from there masterclass :|
A new link and fresh start is what’s needed with us moving up the leagues, my son has been coached first hand by these two and has told me they think more highly of themselves than the others think of them but I know this isn’t always the case.
Fingers crossed we move our youth and football operations out that way as the new site looks great and hopefully the start of something like Exeter have.
COME ON YOU GULLS!!!

I thought Chris Todd was full time manager of Saturday's opponents Gloucester City ?
Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Absolutely, there are some fantastic opportunities there for young people and the club as well. It's a win win situation. We just have to make sure we don't rely on them too much - for example we need someone who can lead on the video and who knows what good is rather than letting students have complete free rein. I just hope Clarke Osbourne isn't getting the people on the construction related courses to build our new stadium for free :P although a new artists impression that isn't stolen from the internet might be a nice project ;-)
