Had to happen some time
Why did they give penalty duty to Andrews not Reid ???

Yes it was going to happen at some time. Just unfortunate it was against Bath who are on a roll. At least Woking didn’t capitalise too much by drawing. It is all about how we react to this now.

Still top on goal difference from Woking but Bath now look good only one point behind. Expensive penalty miss. Could be even worse if the fans behaviour sees sanctions against the club.

We are a point above Woking and Bath are 4 points behind us having played a game more! No panic
To the ‘fans’ causing problems; you should be ashamed of yourselves. I hope you are identified and banned. The club could easily get a points deduction for this. I must say I had my worries after the morons at the Weston match. I am embarrassed by this and hope nobody tries to defend this intellectually challenged minority!!

Reid missed the last one at Wealdstone, and we've not had enough penalties in recent times to have one confirmed taker. Just because he's the top scorer doesn't automatically equate to penalty taker. We scored 5 from 5 at Basingstoke and if Andrews was the nominated taker it will have been for a reason (having proven himself the best taker for example, and it's hard to think of any other reason why he was chosen). Today was a miss, in a sample size of one - but Le Tissier scored 47 from 48 and if there had been social media in the day when he did miss you would have people asking why Iain Dowie didn't take it.
Big disappointment today is that the undisputed record for league wins wasn't broken - that was a chance to make major history. I was pulling the stats in case it was broken and we have now played 4282 league games across 10 different competitions from the East Devon League to League One and 10 straight league wins is the equal best run ever. A great shame not to break it, but equalling that should still mean quite a lot. In terms of the run-in, Woking drew today so it's still pretty much as you were.

Yes, my mistake!
As the Sundance Kid said to Butch Cassidy in their sticky situation at the end of the film - "did you see La Force out there" - "no" - "oh, good we'll be fine then, let's go!" - sound of massed gunfire and credits roll!

Did Read not take it as Clarke in goal had something over him or knowledge from his time with us. Just a though. . .

Disappointing but what a great run. Well done Gary and the lads. Now just need to start another one.
With regards to the penalty, one reason why Andrews may have taken it ahead of Reid could be that Ryan Clarke would know him well and no doubt Jamie would have taken many against him in training.
