For certain scribes on here who move in rarified circles and suffer from big-club-syndrome i.e Torquay must be entitled to rejoin the Football League immediately, and seem to think the manager is to blame, here is the latest news - ' in the real world it doesn't always work out like that'.
Gaining promotion last season was a very exciting time for a club, and staying in the new division this season ought to be the clubs main focus hopefully preparing for a title challenge next season. Exactly how many clubs have come up from the Regional League and won the National Conference for some to sign up to this 'Bounceability Syndrome'. You can point to Salford FC, owned by five Champions League winners and a billionaire from Singapore. who's transfer fee of £300,000 for Adam Rooney in their promotion season was 30% of our clubs 1m turnover. Maybe a more realistic pointer would be Wrexham who for all their efforts to get back to the football league still find themselves languishing in the Conference for their 12th season in a row.
Lest we forget Torquay was a club in decline for several years, but it accelerated in 2015 onwards when all our fears were the end was inevitable. Then along came GJ and in our second season of his reign we have had promotion and are only 4 points off a play off position and there are those that wish to criticise him - because 'boo-hoo' we lost a few games- unbelievable!

think I might be able to guess who Reidy28 is; just a possibility that he's a wind-up merchant on the Yellow Army page on Facebook as well...in the meantime, how about calming down, wait for the injured players to come back, & see what Gary can do to turn things round. Agreed that if things don't change, our League position will become tricky, but I'm sure the management are working hard to turn things round. Modgull, you're only at home games. This team is not an embarrassment, it's simply disappointing. It was great getting used to winning; now we have to be patient.

be interesting to see what team Gary decides to field on Saturday. We badly need a win, although it is a poor cup.
