The return of fans

I'm going tomorrow, and it feels bittersweet. I've not yet seen any mention of a livestream, and think that as this could still be a valuable revenue stream for the club (Wrexham fans alone would make it worth doing) they could have mentioned this with a message of " We're back open, but you can watch from home if you'll feel safer."

If I would have been made aware of a livestream I'd rather have watched from home with a few beers then head up to the ground with no pubs open, no socialising, standing in a square surrounded by strangers. I can see half time in particular being really weird, kind of like it is in Premier League grounds where they pump adverts at full volume on the big screens with everyone sitting and watching, kind of making it feel like you're all at home watching on TV!

This isn't meant to be a dig at the club, I just find their silence bizarre. If you're doing a stream, great! Put the word out there and take people's money before their heads are turned by other commitments. If you're not doing it, and would rather fill Plainmoor, great! Put the word out there and generate some urgency to buy tickets.

At the end of the day, it is the same old problem. Lack of communication , from the club. I can not remember when they have been open about anything.

Yeah it's definitely a tale as old as time... I've found the stream on the site, and it's available for purchase so I assume the club are streaming it.

Just seems so counter productive to spend time and money coming up with a revenue stream and then making it so hard to find!

Having watched all the live streams home and away this season apart form the Stockport game I will be well pissed if it isn't available tomorrow.
Much as I want to go tomorrow I don't feel comfortable at the moment.
Typical disrespect for the fans as per usual.
We should be used to it by now though.

Where have you seen they are not continuing the streaming ?
Clearly states on the website they are.
Give the club a break in these difficult times

Fantastic news fans can now return to watching football. For me as said before it was all about waiting to see what sort of restrictions would be in place, going to football for me is all about a social day out, includes popping in the Gulls nest, standing with mates on the popside and joining in with the chanting.

Looking at the restrictions in place, sadly it's not for me, I'd already written this season off, the supporters code of conduct just confirmed it, that said, this is of course is 'NO' fault of our football club or any other for that matter.

Soon as the restrictions are lifted, I'll be back, and cant wait.

Quite a few fans who post enthusiastically and passionately like yourself are choosing not to go.
I too enjoy meeting up with friends and a drink afterwards etc but for me the absolute number one reason for going is seeing the team play at Plainmoor and winning. Everything else is a bonus. I wouldn't dream of not going tomorrow especially with us top of the league just because I have to stand somewhere else , wear a mask, can't shout etc. It's not ideal but I have to be there.

Totally agree

It remains to be seen how many vacant spaces there are due to season ticket holders staying away but I hope it won’t be too many

There are those who wish to stay away for personal/health reasons and we must respect their decisions, but I personally feel that the team and management deserve whatever level of support fans feel able to give. "Home advantage" is so often quoted as being a lift for the players. It will be different and there may not be the level of sound that we/players may wish for, but surely knowing there is a desire to support can only help the players morale - so I will be there.

Good for you Gloomy . I would love to be there too but just can’t .You are one of the few on here who seem to understand why some of us can’t be there tomorrow. Enjoy the day .

I respect your decision in return, and respect you along with everyone who goes tomorrow to give the club the support they need and deserve, the game is a sell out, if the team continue to perform they way they are now, suspect all games will sell out , and that will be a great credit to our fantastic fans.

I fully understand why your dismayed by my response, however there's no need to be, since 1980, from the old division 4 to League 1 and down the the NLS I've never given up on our great club, and I'm not giving up on them now, as stated none of this is the fault of TUFC, restrictions lifted I'll will be back, if that's not till next season so be it, if the team goes on to win the league, and boy I hope they do, and I can't get in, I'll take that on the chin.

As you know it's a personal decision on my part, and some of my close friends, many been season ticket holders longer than me are not attending for the same reasons, we'll be there in spirit, I'm sure the club will fully understand, 2020 has be a bullshit year for so many people, for various reasons, here's hoping 2021 doesn't go the same way.

I didn’t make it last night but I can not commend the club and stewards in bristows bench on Saturday.
Having spent most of the year shielding due being vulnerable I decided to take a risk and go on Saturday and I felt completely safe. I must admit I felt a little emotional when the players ran out and being able to share these moments with my son again. That’s what football is all about, the icing on the cake is how the team are performing.
I am surprised that all the tickets aren’t being snapped up but as people have previously said maybe season ticket holders have safety worries.
If anyone is on the fence about going I would say go for it, safer than going to the supermarket and the atmosphere has been good as well.

Agree with the tenor of the comments made by those who have experienced Plainmoor under the new restrictions. I felt really safe at all times - from the point I had my temperature taken, through the turnstiles, helping myself to hand sanitiser, following the directions of the stewards to my seat, the arrangements for distancing in the seats, the queueing for the toilets (which have been doubled up in terms of capacity) at half-time to the phased exit of fans at the end of the game. Although I understand why some are not yet confident enough to return, the quality of the football really does deserve a larger crowd.

I have to agree Modgull, I am in the slightly at risk category being over 65 but have been impressed and feel confident to attend games. The team deserve our attendance if we do feel we can
