So can we win the league?
Course we can!
Stuff both Barnet and Alty 5-0, Sutton lose to the Pools and then they beat Barnet we would be champions on GD.
Simples.

Well, Sutton get a soft goal to take the lead. They are all over Hartlepool at this stage so it seems Sutton have one foot in the FL.

At HT it is difficult to see how Hartlepool can get back into the game. Perhaps the weather will have something to say about the way the second half develops.

Recent draws against - Bromley, Stockport and Barnet have relieved all the pressure off of Sutton.
Our loans have missed goal scoring opportunities where as Sutton’s loans are making a difference.

No sign of nerves by Sutton and now 3-0. Worthy champions - they look a really strong unit and have scarcely faltered along the way. We now face the inevitable lottery of playoffs.

All over, Sutton are Champions. We just could not deal with the injuries and our form in the new year was awful. Throw in terrible loan signings ie Street from Palace and Streath from Hull, both shocking.

We recovered with recent unbeaten run but our record against the lower sides is poor. Against the the sides in the top seven, we only lost one in twelve is the best in the League.

Onwards and upwards but playoffs are a total lottery. It looks like Wrexham or Notts County on 13th June.

Just waiting to see how Sutton do next year when they play on grass.

Why would Sutton have any nerves though - results yesterday meant that it was practically a gimme today.

Like most of their opponents Hartlepool couldn't handle their pitch .

Congratulations Sutton on a great consistent season. Promotion amongst a host of ex league clubs is indeed a remarkable achievement, were it not for Torquay you’d have won it weeks ago.

Yep they were a well balanced side. Had advantages re their pitch and few fitness problems but rode it all well. Good luck to them.

Sutton fan here - thanks for the general good wishes- and I think you guys will manage to get through the play offs- you are due a couple of wins. Regarding how we will play on grass - we have won 11 times away so the transition isn’t difficult. If you join us then it will be a doubleheader for teams in yellow....and when we beat you next year you won’t be able to blame it on plastic - oh but I forgot you beat us at home.

Well we know now its the playoffs and we have to make sure the rhetoric is that we have done fantastically well to put ourselves in that position

Time to refocus treat the Altrinham game like a playoff warm up to take some momentum into whoever we play in the semi final and cross everything we can get Whitfield and Wright back for the 12th of June!!
