Tonbridge Angels v Torquay Utd - FA Trophy 3rd - 18th December
Thought I’d get this one started early.
Pubs:
For those of you travelling up on Saturday by train and fancy a pint on the way to the ground there are numerous pubs en route… it’s about a 20-30 minute walk (depending on your mobility and how much you’ve had to drink of course)….
The Station House: In Barden Road, behind the station - turn left out of the station, walk down to the roundabout and take a sharp turn left. Shows live sport and has a pool table.
The Beer Seller: After sampling the delights of The Station House, make your way back to the high street and straight on… The Beer Seller is on the corner of Bradford Street – not sure where the entrance is (never been in it), but if you’re after another pint or two, you’ll find it.
The Humphrey Bean: Out of The Beer Seller and continue up the high street… it’s a Wetherspoons.
Ye Olde Chequers Inn: Just a bit further up over the bridge in front of Tonbridge Castle. Olde Worlde type place.
The Gatehouse: Directly opposite The Chequers. About half a dozen craft beers on tap.
Fuggles Beer Cafe: Just a short walk up the road from The Gatehouse.
The Ivy House: On the junction with the traffic lights. Expensive.
Then it’s a 5-10 minute walk up Shipbourne Road (careful you don’t turn left at the lights or you’ll end up walking away from the ground ) to the The George and Dragon.
One left after that… walk up Shipbourne Road, past the roundabout and you’ll see a Shell Garage on your left… the Royal Oak is just after it.
Then the ground itself... exit the Royal Oak, turn left and walk up the road to the roundabout, turn left down the hill signposted 'Tonbridge Sports Farm' (you'll have the cemetery on your left and Tonbridge Baptist Church on your right).. keep walking straight down, you'll come to the entrance to the large car park.... straight across the car park you will see the ground/floodlights/turnstiles.
If you’re still thirsty after that, the Longmead Lounge at the ground is open to all. There is a large marquee behind the North Stand which is open occasionally – not sure if it will be for this match.
Parking:
There is a very large free car park directly outside the ground. If it's full, there is plenty of street parking.
The Club:
Friendly club - community owned - average attendance this season approx 620.
Anything else you want to know, you can find here:

I've bought my ticket.
I wonder if we'll play a full strength team.
Interesting to see whether Johnson keeps Armstrong & Lolos together after they made such a good partnership last week, or whether he rests one or both and gives Danny Wright a game, which he could probably do with (as long as he avoids injury).

Hall, CLE and MC Donald missing. I will take a 1-0 win. Tonbridge have won only three matches in the League this season, so do not have too much to trouble us........BUT this is Torquay!
