Anyone know who trialist A is? Wasn’t at the game today but appears he came on at half time, so not sure on position either

The clues GJ gave were that his first name is Ben and he played left wingback
Seen elsewhere that it's Ben Wyatt, recently at Sutton.

That would be ideal! If he’s good enough of course

Thoughts on formation & starting XI?
How about 532 / 352
GK Halstead
CB Omar
CB Moxey
CB Marshall
RWB Crowe
LWB Wyatt
CM McGavin
CM Hall
AM Evans
ST Andrews
ST Jarvis
Midfield is tough choice with Lapsie, Hanson, Donnellan all good options! I think it will also be a battle between Jarvis / Goodwin / Evans for front pairing. Jarvis seems favoured alongside Andrews at present. Whilst Halstead seems to have earned #1 spot it also seems Lovett will be ready to step in if Halstead gives an inch

I think you mostly have it right. Possible change I see is that Jarvis out for Goodwin, since I think he has had slight niggle. I'm also a tad concerned about Hall as he's not been seen at all pre-season. Without him, though, we still have Lapslie & Hanson waiting.
Eventually I could see Martin slotting into LWB, especially at home where the onus is on us to attack.
Every time I look at our squad I'm struck by how flexible it is. I think we have cover in ever position except CB, and if we lose one of those 3, we could probably switch to a flat back 4, or Hall could drop back there.

Assuming all those listed by Bristol Gull are fit, I would start with Jarvis and Goodwin up front with Andrews on the bench.
Can't see Jarvis and Hall starting - they've hardly played !

Absolutely buzzing for Saturday. What kind of crowd do you think we'll get? I suspect Oldham will have a good following as well, so a good atmosphere awaits.
Feeling optimistic for the season. We have a solid squad and I'm sure we'll dip into the loan market as the season progresses too. Also, a good solid pre-season and knowing we were in this division a few months ago is far better preparation than last year with minimal time to build a squad.

I share the enthusiasm for Saturday - would have liked to have scored more goals from open play during pre-season.

Would have been an interesting one to sign:

I think its fair to draw the conclusion on the basis of who is now getting regularly picked provided that they're fit
Halstead
Moxey
Donnellan
Wyatt
Martin
Hall
Lapslie
Jarvis
are first XI selections and the remaining 10 on our books don't. I recognise we can't play two keepers so I think Lovett is OK and also Moyse is too inexperienced to be negative towards but the remaining 8 players if I've counted correctly seem to be not good enough. Is that fair?
