Aldershot v Torquay United Sat 4th March KO 3pm

Post by portugull »

United travel to Aldershot with the knowledge that they won 6-1 at Plainmoor when the 2 sides last met.

With De Silva recalled to QPR so Gareth Ainsworth can assess him, Moxey and Lapslie possibly not fit to play, and 3 defeats in a row
the Yellow Army will travel more in hope than expectation. However it is a funny old game and the players will be determined to try and make up for some shocking lapses in recent games and I hope be extra determined to win against all the odds.

I am going for 1-1 draw.

Surely we delve into the loan market to replace DDS, especially with Crole out of action still.

Another week and another lack of update on Asa Hall - we need him back along with Dan Martin

How.many of this squad will be playing in the South next season??

None??? So pointless.

Asa Hall is unfit and so is Dan.

No need to update on injured players is there. The time they are out is well known and expected back dates.

Anyway won't be 6 I am confident we can limit to 4-1 at least.

3 or less will feel like a win.

N.b. De Silva was pulled away by qpr scouts last week as they were horrified by our standard of football and felt we are destroying his career as he is a prospect to make 50 grand from a 4th tier club as a squad player , like a Salford or rich club possible Wrexham next year. He deserves that.

I was next to 2 of them at some point during or after the game.

One was watching a Bromley player they have an eye on for their under 21 squad.

Anyway sorry. I hate Aldershot it's a rubbish town full of idiots.

I dread the prospect of seeing them celebrate an easy win tomorrow.

At least Aldershot will be a long distance game next season mileage wise compared to what we have ahead.

The happy clappers will blindly clap away again.

As backwards as it may sound, some people feel better about themselves by trying to make others feel worse.

You obviously haven’t done your research on NLS, vast majority of teams are based in the south east/ London area. So aldershot would be a Derby game as such.

Sat here by myself on the 12:24 from Waterloo off to another away day to watch my little club battle away with another little club facing similar travails. I ask myself why I continue my addiction. I swerved a perfectly acceptable night out at the theatre with the missus thanks to my daughter making a surprise visit home from uni taking the ticket to watch, what will probably be another struggle at the wrong end of the table with not even a nice town to visit. I will meet up with my brother and nephew coming up on a four hour train journey from Exeter (pardon the language) to have a few jars sat in The Crimea.
But that’s the point, a chance to meet up with like minded addicts and roar on whoever is representing our club, albeit not a pretty site at present.
So come on, moan a bit if it makes you feel better but think about what this club gives to you. I’ll still cheer them on, I can’t help myself, and have a great day out.
Howay the lads (Am I thinking about a Gateshead trip?)

From the remaining 12 we probably require 18 points. Glad we didn’t lose, but we have to start picking up wins. Time is running out.

Picture on the OS Twitter feed with Jarvis running with the ball so he definitely played.

Good point away but Wealdstone won 4-0 and Andrews scored so next Saturday tough with Solihull away on Tuesday. Still 5 of the bottom 7 lost today and Yeovil have only scored 28 goals all season.
