TUFC v Wrexham change of kick off time
TUFC v Wrexham change of kick off time
Following the announcement that all NL matches will kick off at 5.30pm on the final game of the season we can only assume this is for the BT cameras. Will we be the televised match? This has screwed me up as I go on holiday that night!!! Obviously interest in the Wrexham story, but 6000 Wrexham fans drinking in Torquay all day on a bank holiday weekend all day is not great. Wonder if the police are happy with this!!

Wow its gone from 3000 of them to 6000.
Whatever the number, the police will struggle to keep control whether the Wrexham fans are friendly or not. The late kick off time won't help matters, unless it's raining heavily and they don't fancy hanging around outside Plainmoor.
Are we really going to have a situation where a lot of Wrexham fans will be outside trying to buy tickets from us?

Yes, 3000 much more realistic than 6000, but that's still about 1500 waving money around trying to buy tickets, push through turnstiles, force gates and climb walls.Taelee73 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 07:56 Wow its gone from 3000 of them to 6000.

Whatever numbers they bring, be it 2k or 6k, moving the kick-off to 5:30 is a recipe for disaster.
The sooner the Circus has left town (and the NL) the better.

Luxurious compared to anything you’d find in Wrexham that is.somersetgull wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 18:01 Actually it is true..luckily most of the bats Wrexham drank in were considered luxurious, while the owners of the bar were happy to take insurance payout and renovate them to normal standards.

It'll be so that all of the games can be streamed, as it takes kickoff outside of the window where Uefa Rule 48 applies. Of special interest to Wrexham since they have a shitload of foreign fans now. BT haven't announced which of the games they'll show live - our game seems the most likely candidate given the possible repurcussions at both ends of the table.fred wrote: ↑05 Apr 2023, 22:14 Following the announcement that all NL matches will kick off at 5.30pm on the final game of the season we can only assume this is for the BT cameras. It's not so all the games can be streamed. Streaming wasn't available last season but games kicked off outside the Rule 48 box on the final day.. It is so BT can screen a game, because all final day games must kick off at the same time so they all get moved outside the Rule 48 box. Foreign/overseas viewers can view any NL games even those inside the Rule 48 box via the streaming service.happytorq wrote: ↑07 Apr 2023, 18:35 It'll be so that all of the games can be streamed, as it takes kickoff outside of the window where Uefa Rule 48 applies. If our game is chosen by BT then it won't be available on the streaming service (at least not in the UK).

No, but the other games can be streamed in the UK now that there *is* streaming and that they, too, are now outside the rule 48 window.Cheddargull wrote: ↑07 Apr 2023, 20:04 It's not so all the games can be streamed. So it's probably more accurate to say for me to say that it was moved so BT can broadcast a game, but that it now also means streaming is possible, even in the UK.

It was obvious that these final National League games would not be played at 3 o’clock on the Saturday, but whereas both the Premier League and EFL have published their dates since the fixtures came out, the National League in conjunction with BT have only recently announced the revised kick off time. In doing so they displayed a complete lack of respect for fans and their need to arrange travel.

Not a surprise tbh - they've done this every season.....Griff1n wrote: ↑09 Apr 2023, 09:54 It was obvious that these final National League games would not be played at 3 o’clock on the Saturday, but whereas both the Premier League and EFL have published their dates since the fixtures came out, the National League in conjunction with BT have only recently announced the revised kick off time. Yes, but last season (at Southend) they moved all the games to 15.00 on the Sunday and I was hoping for the same time this year. Why can’t they decide when the fixtures are released in the same way as the top four divisions ?

The bottom line mate is that every season they will always change the time, as late as possible to suit them and not the fans as per usual.

Then at least they should drop the pretence of listing the games as Saturday 3 p.m. and instead say kick off time will be changed TBA, don’t book your trains and coaches, we’ll give you at least two weeks notice. Tinpot or what ?
