A deserved win.
If only we'd had this team from the start of the season.
And what a horrible team Eastleigh are (again).

Big 3 pts and deservedly so!
Game was largely devoid of a lot of quality but thats not what matters now, all about the result
Eastleigh havent changed much in the last few seasons, love going to ground, horrible tactics, very nice to beat them - ref too soft to get a hold of the game
Fingers crossed Moxey will be okay for Monday, we go again

A good crowd over 3,200 at Plainmoor for the visit of the least attractive team in the National League. They really do give Football a bad name.
United gave their all from start to finish and there was not one weak player in the team today.
Asa Hall is so good at getting in the 18 yard box and Jack Stobbs free kick was right on the money for Asa at the perfect time 51 minutes.
When Tom Lapslie made it 2-0 after valiant work by Aaron Jarvis I actually felt confident we would see the game out.'
3 wins on the bounce and 3 clean sheets gives us a chance but every game now is a must win.
Wrexham and Chesterfield results show that it ain't over till its over.COYY.

That was a real performance and we look a proper team now. If only ...that team had happened a couple of months ago.
Just shows what some experienced players can do. Hall, Moxey, Dawson, Lapslie, Nouble, Halstead....
Add some talented younger players Jarvis, Lawrence, Collins and Donnellan and Stobbs who were excellent today.
We would have been bullied and beaten by them a couple of months ago, but we controlled that game and made a sixth placed team look very ordinary.
If only we could stay up and keep Nouble
and Jarvis.
What a player Asa Hall has been for us. Absolutely outstanding.

Totally agree a magnificent 3 points to keep this mini run going. Fully agree with all names mentioned, and no coincidence that withoutdesperado wrote: ↑07 Apr 2023, 20:04 That was a real performance and we look a proper team now. If only ...that team had happened a couple of months ago.

Marshall and the pedestrian McGavin not in the startingX1 things have improved dramatically. Onto Maidenhead and bring the 3 points home.

If we had this starting XI at the start of the season, we would be in the play offs. Just hope we can survive the drop this term, keep the best of what we have and clear out the crap that are a liability.
IF we can win at Maidenhead on Easter Monday and beat York next Saturday, we will be on 46 points. We need Aldershot the team currently in 20th (the safety position) to lose heavily - they have scored seven more goals than us, but are catchable and goal difference may play a part.
Today we looked a proper football side with no weak links, we need that for every minute of the final five matches. The crowd was excellent, over 3000 giving a great atmosphere.
The key to our recent success is keeping a clean sheet, something I have been saying all season. If you do not concede, you only need one to win.
I can see 1000+ going up the M5/M4 to York Road on Monday.

This was a gritty, professional performance against a strong but horrible opposition. There were many excellent performances throughout the team but I thought the standouts were our two scorers, Jarvis and Moxey. It was a game of few clear-cut chances - we only had 5 attempts all game but 4 on target. They probably had slightly more chances but I only remember 2 on target.
MOTM for me was Tom Lapslie who was all over the park (in a good way), harrying their midfield and forcing them to go long much of the time. He put in some great tackles and took his goal superbly.
Also of note was the Plainmoor crowd - not the biggest bank holiday audience but the support was loud and continuous for much of the game. It was an atmosphere which has been missing since the Derby FA Cup game.
Will it be enough? I doubt it. Win tomorrow and I will dare to believe but for the moment I think it is a case of too little too late.

Great to be there on the Popside.
Great performance, great result.
What a team of shithouses (again) Eastleigh are...
Down quicker than tarts knickers, rolling around on the floor like they'd been shot by an SAS Sniper...
Camp, their RB (obviously by name and nature) was the worst.... Embarrassing.
Goalie - wasting time after five minutes FFS.....
Soon as we scored they funnily enough stopped wasting time and moaned about it when we did....
MOTM was a hard pick - could have been anyone...
Big shout outs to Tiger Tom, Asa, Daws, Mox, Giroud and Frank up top.
On to Monday...
Can we do it? Can we???
Up the Gulls.
