Torquay Utd v Worthing 12/8/2023 15:00
Thought I'd get a matchday topic started so predictions can be posted... I'm going for a 2-0 win again. Hoping we will get back on track with a first home game win.

1-0 home win - they can't be any more sloppy than they were at Dover?!

Quite simply the game I am dreading. I live in Worthing and have a number of mates who follow them. I will be making the 380 mile round trip with my family and have our tickets already.
Worthing finished 3rd last season, got off to a winning start and truly believe they will be top six again. Joe Felix has been their pre-season star and was man of the match of Saturday. Sadly, I worry this is another banana skin. I predict a 1-2 defeat with Asa Hall getting our goal. If this is a case, I will be in hiding for the next month.

Going for a 2-1 Torquay win.
Travelling down for the 1st home game as usual and looking forward to seeing all the usual suspects in the Gulls Nest pre-match.
Would expect Mox to be in the starting XI to give us a bit more solidity in defence.
Perhaps we will also see a defensive loan signing tomorrow or Thursday...

not jumping on any negativity bandwagon but really thinking if the 3 CBs at the minute is our best way of setting up
I think we would stronger with a back 4 of
Martin - Donellan - Tomlinson - Craske
Gives the option of 4-4-2 or 4-3-3
Either way i'll be there to support the team - although if we lose and Worthings star man is Joe Felix we are in trouble!

I hear what you are saying and share your thoughts. See my comments on the Dillion De Silva thread. I place De Silva miles ahead of Felix. But having said that, the Worthing fans currently can't get enough of him. . . Think we'll get an early goal, then wobble in second half.

Torquay 3 Worthing 1
Worthing are a good side and have to be a league contender. Nonetheless, teams with the resources to collect 90 points or more over a season, will be far and few. Torquay have these resources and will need to make their mark - the manager and I think the players know this and will need a performance this Sat to show they mean business or there will be a disgruntled support base.
