Without a doubt - Tomlin.

Caused them problems for 90 minutes.

It was like nobody did anything truly spectacular, but that was because we didn't need to.

Tomlin - his skill and link up play have become crucial to our system. Will be very important at OT.
Robertson - strong, calm and composed.
O'Kane - what a great player Eunan is. Defensive discipline and fight, combined with vision well above L2 standard.
Lathrope - great work-rate & part of a CM that performed brilliantly considering the lack of experience.
Nicholson - Shrewsbury seemed to target him in the 1st half but he dealt with and put in some great tackles.

Well what an evening and if you are younger than me or Southampton Gull take a word of advice! Remember nights like Friday as they do not happen that often!

I would really like to give the MOTM to the yellow army as they were fantastic throughout and it was one of the only matches I have attended that no one and I mean no one got on any players back. Totally supportive throughout.

But here are the vots of the Mid Devon Jury

1. Tomlin
2. Branston
3. O'Kane
4. Mansell (for for his total verbal commitment throughout!!!!)
5. Lathorpe

plus a word for LRT and Ostler, coming on could not have been easy late in the game, but my goodness did they look confident for their age, both had time on the ball and did not make mistakes.....all looks good for the future.

Back 4 were immense for 90 minutes, didn't give Shrewsbury a sniff. Lathrope protected well and played some nice passes. Front 4 were superb first half, bit quiet in latter stages which is why I've voted for our defensive unit, but quality from everyone, even Macklin with 2 minutes on the pitch impressed me cos he put in maximum effort and didn't stop running.
