When? Obviously not when we're just outside the play-off positions and unable to fill the subs bench. Everyone is blaming the Manager, I'm not. If he was being backed financially by an owner wanting promotion he'd have been allowed to strengthen the squad. Does anyone seriously think his hands aren't tied?

He spent the budget he had on utter c**p. Why would the owner trust him with another penny. That is on Johnson.

The straight answer was in the first sentence. Was it too long for you to read and digest?UnitedinDevon wrote: ↑28 Oct 2023, 17:34 You could stand at the dispatch box in the house of commons if you think thats a straight answer

Budget must have been huge huh? Not many argued against most of the squad that finished last season being signed on for a campaign at a division lower.gullsgullsgulls wrote: ↑28 Oct 2023, 17:39 He spent the budget he had on utter c**p. If everyone gets their wish and Johnson is sacked let's see the ambitions of the owner when it comes to further recruitment.......

are on tell you that GJ has had a decent budget, he blew it all on a gamble from last seasons relegation squad and it hasn't worked - he even bloody admitted in the summer he blew the money re-signing those players
His decisions, his resposibility and needs to be held account for it

So Gary Johnson has no responsibility for our current situation?Southampton Gull wrote: ↑28 Oct 2023, 17:37 When? With the exception of a few highlights, TUFC performances and results have been on a downward trend for some years.
Ultimately the Manager,Board and Owner are responsible for this trend. You can be assured that they will only ever dish up what ever we are willing to consume.

Life is like TUFC. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.
Crikey, this isn't good is it?,GJ no doubt about it has been over loyal to a bunch of players who aren't up to it sadly, or past it, one season to many for a few, and the others who were hammered on this platform are decent players in their own right, but even NLS promotion is beyond them, GJ should of taken heed of the warning signs, and to throw in a cast off who's only claim to fame is being on the books of Man Utd but not getting a contract, and having a spell in a "big house" for being pissed behind the wheel, and GJ's son loans him to us, when did he train with us out of curiosity?, to throw him in starting today is beyond desperate , it's hopeless. I said it last evening on here, has GJ given up?, its a sad state of affairs isn't it, I did post on this platform we'd be a top ten side, I've seen signs it's "clicking" and we aren't that bad, but it's to many false dawns for me, we've probably got 4 good players at this level, the others as harsh or blunt as this sounds aren't up to it (getting us back to NL level)..
Are we now sitting in the lowest league position we have ever been in?
If not, does anyone know when we have been lower?

I did mean prove me wrong, not right. Yes GJ has had the budget he needed, we had 9 midfielders, then went and signed a 10th midfielder.
If that doesn't tell us what we need to know, nothing ever will, most of his previous signings are either not fit enough, or not good enough.
Today we've ended the game with 2 recognised defenders 1 recognised striker, and 7 midfielders on the pitch, and we wonder why we can't score or keep clean sheets.
It's on GJ, if he's doing the press call Thursday, then I'd suggest boycotting the Bath game or organise a protest either way this can't continue.

Can’t scout and can’t manage, let’s not forget GJ inherited Owers’ decent squad. Give it to someone who’s hungry to succeed and sees this as their big break, rather than someone who doesn’t attend training but collects a massive wedge and couldn’t give a flying **** about the supporters.

The margin for error is slim in our division and, if things are going badly, you rarely have resources to bring in four or five players. Johnson and every manager in this league have to live or die by their summer recruitment: these are the guys he needed to get a tune out of in order to turn things around, otherwise he risked being shown the door. When a manager is under pressure everything goes out of the window – the gameplan, the messages to the players, the teams they pick – Johnson has become a bit like a rabbit in the headlights. Johnson may have a rhino hide to deal with the scrutiny but even that is wearing a bit thin. One thing certain in football is a manager will get sacked. The primary question is will sacking Johnson actually help by gambling on the luck of the draw to see if we get a replacement that is any better given the squad as it currently stands.

2 points off the play off positions while operating with the bare minimum, yep he's responsible.
