As Dave Thomas mentioned in the Torbay. Weekly why don't we play Hall at centre back
He can tackle, head it and read the play. He's played there before and looked ok. We have to strengthen our defence, you just know when you turn up at Plainmoor we are going to concede and usually the first goal and in the first half hour.

They used to say the same about Bobby Moore. If you have a good football brain which he (Hall) does then pace isn't necessarily a must have.

Lots of good centre backs in the lower leagues don't have pace . If they were good and had pace they wouldn't be playing at that level.
Craig Taylor. Chris Todd, Guy Branston to name three , none had pace. Reading the game more important.
