Watched it from home on NTV. Which was rubbish by the way as on an iPad you had no full screen capability other than make the small screen bigger.
Other than that I thought we looked decent . McGavin is much maligned but he produced some key moments of quality.
The tv coverage was awful without commentary and it took me a while to notice Lapslie was not 0n the pitch.
We looked positive throughout and despite the mistakes we kept on pushing. Well done lads and the management .

Top of the form table, second-most goals scored, 4th in the league and 5 points off the top (albeit Yeovil have two games in hand), 5 points ahead of the non-playoff places. If we can keep this up over Christmas with our injury worries, we'll be in with a shout!

A deserved win.
Good goals.
Three more injuries to key players is a worry.
Stubbs pulled up running at full pelt right in front of us. I imagine he’ll be out for some time as players aren’t usually stretchered off for a hamstring.
I thought Collins was going to be sent off but maybe the ref realised he’d been conned by their cheating player.
Yeovil have a few difficult games coming up while most of ours look easier so the table could look better for us by January.

Decent win today however thought Weymouth were pretty dreadful. Thought mcgavin deserved MOTM and was class throughout. Shame to see few lads pick up injuries, however two lads that came off the bench, Archer and especially Hanson looked very solid today. Think he deserves some credit for that and a few previous performances, looks like a good player. Johnson seems to have got himself out of trouble with 3 wins on the bounce!

Another welcome 3 points and the table looks a little rosier now. Hopefully we can cover the injuries and put a good run of results together to put some pressure on Yeovil. Glad to see McGavin is continuing to win people over as well.

A perfect December evening for Football saw United open the scoring in the 4th minute when Brett McGavin scored his trademark free kick from 22 yards which means in the last 3 Home games we have finally started to score in the first 10 minutes which is such a confidence booster for the team.
Brad Ash was odds on to score against his old team and duly obliged to make it 2-0. Weymouth scored in the 42 minute so 2-1 at HT.
We are beginning to play some lovely football at times and the addition of Harris, Williams and Archer has brought so much more pace to the team which Weymouth just could not cope with.
Lewis Collins needed a goal and on 76 mins a fantastic kick by Mark Halstead sent Collins on his way and to his great credit he attacked at speed and rocketed his shot high into the net from the left of the Family Stand goal for a real match winning goal. Well done Lewis.
Lapslie early on Stobbs who was stretchered off and Ash were the casualties tonight and it gave as a result a Debut for young first year pro Thomas who did really well.
High praise for Julian Goldthorpe our groundsman who produced an amazing pitch given the volume of rain in the last 3 or 4 days. COYY

Ref did his best to spoil an entertaining game
Another great strike by McGavin, keeper started off well over to that side too but still couldn't get near it. Very cooly taken goal from Ash and great to see Collins put his laces through the third, he needed that.
Hope we can keep Archie Harris , good on the ball and strong. Thought Archer did very well too made some good runs and great, sharp movement. Ten days to the next important game so hopefully Ash and Lapslie will recover.

A good win against a nasty, niggly side who targeted lapslie from minute one with some very heavy tackles, Mcgavin again got his goal bonus with a lovely strike and all round the players showed detemination to win 50/50 balls something that has not always been present this season.
Stobbs injury although on the other side of the pitch to us seemed a nasty one with some saying he had done his hamstring but having to be stretchered off would indicate something more serious.
De silva on the benech was obviously there just to make up numbers as he was a natural replacement for stobbs but we bought thomas on and to be fair he didnt do anything wrong.
More injuries and no sign of donnellan, hall, dawson, martin etc etc, glad we only have a mickey mouse game this saturday but worryingly we have four games in 10 days thereafter,

We noticed Stobbs touched his hamstring a few minutes earlier, after delivering a couple of weak crosses
We thought he was just making an excuse, so apologies to him

Weymouth manager having a right moan, saying Collins should have been sent off even though he was the other side of the pitch 70 odd yards away. The player, having seen Collins just get booked tried to get him sent off, deliberately going down clutching his head.

yeah, on first watch through (only watch on the stream!) it very much looked as though Collins lead with his arm. Thought at the time he lucky to stay on, although I've yet to see it again.Skillsy wrote: ↑06 Dec 2023, 18:45 In the interests of fairness..............although the defender made a meal of it, I thought Lewis Collins was very lucky to not be booked a second time. I think the ref would have booked him had he not already been booked. Collins then scored within two minutes, had we been on the receiving end of this we wouldn't have been at all happy.

Fair enough, if you had a better view than me. I was just annoyed at the players reaction but suppose that's the norm these days.

Great three points.
I thought Weymouth were a nasty team who clearly targeted Tom Lapslie. The two footed challenge by their No. 6 on Tom could have easily been a red card.
Another very poor referee, I know it’s NLS but the standard of refereeing surely can’t be this bad.
I thought the team played well with some very determined performances.
McGavin was my MOTM … who would have thought ! Great improvement from him and credit to those who have worked with him.
Their No. 3 smirked at the Popside when he got up after trying to get Lewis Collins sent off. Cracking goal from Lewis.
Worrying that we seem to be left with 12 fit players incl 2 keepers. The match at Frome is an irrelevance.

Weymouth manager has a point. For me Collins dodged a bullet on the second offence and was exceedingly lucky to get away with it. The Weymouth players over-reaction may have helped Colllins cause. Then again the ref may have though I have allowed Weymouth to crock all the Torquay players I cant send one of theirs off for just a push in the back.desperado wrote: ↑06 Dec 2023, 14:22 Weymouth manager having a right moan, saying Collins should have been sent off even though he was the other side of the pitch 70 odd yards away.
