Without Plainmoor on a lease we are dead. It maybe restricts white knights to people with less cash than we would like but it does give us a future. There are white knights who like football.

No, actually I'd settle for a less ambitious owner who could balance the books like say a Mike Bateson figure. I'd settle for a period of relative obscurity in the National League if it means keeping our club out of the hands of scumbags like Osborne.

It would also have ended in years if he had got the freehold. Osborne was no White Knight.

You can bury your heads in the sand if you want, for as long as you want, but as long as the owner of the freehold is unable to invest, then there is no future.

The political fallout for the council is that they will have to react to this.
Anything less that appearing to support our fanbase could jeopardise their future political ambitions.
Expect something in the way of a potential solution based upon not investment but a commitment to community facilities.
Plainmoor is therefore secure .
In theory and I hope ……….

my group of companies tried to offer Torquay FC a lucrative sponsorship 10 years ago, but they turned us down, now we will try and buy the club.
Any more info or background? On what grounds did they turn you down?

The louder fans have been demanding Gary out and the owners should leave the club. Their dreams have come true.

The tricky part is not having a plan for such an eventuality.

I’m not sure fans were anticipating going into administration as the mode of ownership transfer, which has put more than a sour note on the debacle.

As I understand it the players contracts are up once you move in admin. Jarvis and co will move on. Admin will bring a points reduction so we could be relegated. A full time team costs a fortune so we are doomed for several years.
A fan based takeover went sour when it happened a decade ago and who wants to take on a club which costs a fortune and always posts losses?
The logic is we will be dropped down several leagues once we get kicked out the national league south due to admin if no buyer is found to pay wages.
The only saving grace we still have Plainmoor as it is on lease from the council.
Why did no one protest against the owners at Ashton Gate?
