I understand that Mal, a former club captain has passed away at the age of 85.
A Welsh international and over 120 appearances for TUFC, his last professional club before moving to non league football.
I hope the club can acknowledge this.
RIP Mal…. I’m sure he’s wishing the Yellow Army well!

The passing of Mal Lucas WAS indeed acknowledged at our last home match against Hampton & Richmond.
Remember him scoring after 3 minutes in a Boxing Day blizzard in 1970 against Plymouth in the days when we were the best team in Devon . 2-1 win with John Rudge scoring the winner after Jim Furnell parried his penalty.
Game would never have been played today , with snow and ice on the pitch.

I was also there for that game. Great strike from distance.

Oh yes that game, the madness of youth, woke up late, had to run for the bus. No breakfast, not enough clothes, bloody cold, the only time I have had assistance from St John’s Ambulance missed winning goal, no frost bite thank goodness.
Those were the days, kick offs at crazy times, mid morning on Boxing Day.
All I remember is revenge for the previous Boxing Day at Home Park
