Squad 2024/25
A clean slate at last.
Is it just Booth contracted for 24/25?
Lapslie cruciate injury?
Luke Young? (Very much doubt it)
The ginger fella from Bath?
It’ll be interesting to see who is offered a new deal. I’d offer contracts to Lapslie (injury depending), Ash, Jarvis, Stobbs, and possibly Moxey/Hall.
This has got the feel of Buckle’s first season, I think he only had 4 players when he came in which were probably Hill, Woods, Bedeau and one other.

A lot of this is already covered under another tread.Admiral wrote: ↑23 May 2024, 20:17 A clean slate at last.

Lapslie out for the season?
Well he can’t have been in a hurry to have the op, he was sat on Torre Abbey beach with Stobbs about a week ago when we had our one hot day.

My understanding is that the club can't officially do any recruitment until the CVA is approved (end of next week, maybe?)
Let's assume it's just Booth signed on for next season, though.
I think we'll offer deals to;
Ash
Archer
One of Moxey/Hall (possibly as part of an assistant coaching deal)
...and that's probably it. There are plenty of players about who could do a job for us, but really it depends on what Wooton and Warnock think they can stretch the budget too.
I'd maybe be inclined to give Lovett a shot at the #1 shirt, because I don't think he's ever done anything wrong for us, but equally he may want to move on.

Let's get the CVA out of the way... 31st May by all accounts. Then we can start recruiting.
Will be interesting to see what pans out.

Given the way that the club acted swiftly to appoint Wotton whilst still under administration, I am hoping they have had similar discussions with existing or potential players and have some deals lined up ready to be officially signed once everything is over the line

Isn't McGavin still under contract?

I suspect that one or two deals have already been done with announcement on or after the 31st.

I understand that a goalkeeper is on the way also.
According to Transfermarket he is under contract until 30th June 2025. I don’t know how accurate that is. I’m also unsure whether or not going into administration makes existing contracts null and void should the player so wish.

I hope so.
Out of all last season's team I think he has the most talent and potential.
I'd like to see him for a year under a new manager and coach to see if he can improve the more physical and running parts of his game.

I always thought he got given a 3yr deal (somehow) when he first joined, I think this would be his 3rd year
But then it's surprising that Booth wouldn't be under contract
Law wouldn't be a surprise, maybe the keeper Hamon from Truro too?

I am under the impression we have only one player still under contract and I can't believe Booth paid £2500 to buy out his contract for just three months of football.UnitedinDevon wrote: ↑24 May 2024, 21:21 I always thought he got given a 3yr deal (somehow) when he first joined, I think this would be his 3rd year

As for McGavin, a three year contract is very unusual at this level and I wonder if internet sources are inaccurate about this. Also Wotton has publicly stated "if you can't run you can't play my type of football".

I think Law and Hamon are done deals. It's no suprise really with the Truro connection and both being out of contract.UnitedinDevon wrote: ↑24 May 2024, 21:21 I always thought he got given a 3yr deal (somehow) when he first joined, I think this would be his 3rd year
