This seems a very solid signing, but he didn't play last season. Was he out injured?
was on bench

Tomlinson had a loan spell at Truro in 21-22 so you would assume Wotton knows and trusts in his ability. 22 is still young for a defender to develop with the right coachingculmstockgull wrote: ↑04 Jun 2024, 10:56 Major clear out, I hope ash and moxey stays, Tomlinson being offered a contract is beyond me, either wootton hasnt seen him play or tomlinson is playing for peanuts, he has a big squad to assemble, at least 15 , and then getting them to gell within 8 weeks is a big ask.
I thought Oscar had a bad knee injury. One appearance for Morcambe last season. Oh well, we will soon find out.
Big squad to assemble.
I think more like small squad to assemble. Mid table and turn in a profit would do us!

Hoping for mid table in this league is not satisfactory. We have to be aiming for promotion.

Good luck to those who are moving on, it will be interesting reading to see where they end up.
I think Thomas, Lovett and Archer are perhaps a touch unlucky not to be retained. In Archer’s case, there’s plenty of Southern and Isthmian Premier sides he’d now walk into plus lots of NLS / NL sides in the area.
On the goalkeeping front, Zak Baker has had a great season at Tiverton on loan from Plymouth, would they like to see him step up a level?
Looking forward to seeing how things progress.

Promotion is, of course, our ultimate aim, but given the upheaval of the past few years I don't think I'd be too upset with a safe, mid-table finish, especially if gave the new ownership the ability to get a lot of the off-field stuff figured out. Re-engage the community, sort out what is laughably called our commercial department, that sort of thing. We definitely shouldn't lose sight of the football league as our long-term goal/expectation, but building an entirely new squad is always going to be tough and I don't know how reasonable it is to expect promotion straight away.
Of course, if we win the first 3 games, I say "fire it up, choo choo"

Threlkeld’s involvement will be as holding midfielder. A quality player for regional football for sure. One assumes he's had a thorough medical as my recollection is a knee injury curtailed his latter playing career.
Yes , hope he's not Dawson mark two !

'TUFC from the West Country' never had a truer ring with the players we are signing on.

Would love Luke Young to come back and finish his career with us. That would be something special.
