I think there may be an overlap there with the group of local semi pros. Taunton lost a few to suspension a couple of years ago (I believe the group included Ollie Chamberlain - now at Weston and Dan Sullivan of Truro). Likely we’ll see an extensive ban that’ll rule him out for most of, if not all, next season. Great shame, nice to see a local lad back to play with some passion.

Chamberlain bet against Taunton in a game he was playing in. 4 month ban.

a lot of players, actually. I know for a 100% fact that several players from previous squads would be on themselves to be the first scorer in a game.

I don't think it's right to go in too hard on Booth over this, it says bets dating back 2017, when he'd I think have been 19 and still playing at a level where betting is allowed, he was at Watcombe and Plymouth Parkway early in his development.

Agreed. Very easy to label him an idiot but what footballer is going to take such risks if they are actually aware of the rules / implications. I would guess that the training / education wasn't in place in this instance. The fact he stopped a number of years ago suggests he doesnt have an addition and instead, this was uneducated social betting.
I hope he gets leniency and a suspended sentence.

Wake up and smell the coffee to anybody who thinks that players don’t have a bet. Rife in the game from the Prem down.
