[OS] Alan Little RIP

Post by TorquayFans.com »

Torquay United is saddened to learn of the passing of former Gulls midfielder Alan Little. Combative midfielder Little began his career at Aston Villa, prior to moving on to represent Southend United, Barnsley and Doncaster Rovers. After arriving at Plainmoor in October 1982, Little established himself as a popular member of Bruce Rioch’s side, making 60 appearances in all competitions and scoring 6 goals, before departing to join Halifax Town just over a year later. Alan ended his playing days as player/coach at Hartlepool in 1985/86, prior to enjoying a successful six-year spell as York City manager, in addition to stints in charge of former clubs Southend and Halifax. The thoughts and condolences of everyone at TUFC go out to all of Alan’s family and friends at this very sad and difficult time. Thanks for the memories, Alan.   The Club will be giving the Yellow Army the opportunity to honour Alan, as well as former Gulls right-back Paul Holmes and former director Merv Balson, during a one-minute applause ahead of kick-off against Enfield Town tomorrow. The post Alan Little RIP first appeared on Torquay United.
