Goodness knows we certainly need him.

I disagree. Never understood what people saw in Jenkins-Davies.
Whilst he was sometimes referenced as another Adam Randell the two are miles apart.
Based on his contributions to a poor team last season, he is not an improvement on what we have. Certainly not a starting spot. Two of the major deficiencies in the current side are lack of creativity and pace. I don't question his effort but he didn't demonstrate either last season.
He is still young (19). Plenty of time to fulfil the potential Argyle see in him and confound my opinion.
Another Arkell Jude-Boyd, now that would really be a great signing.

Have to disagree with you on this one, he is just coming up 20, he will be bigger, stronger and more knowledgeable than last season and you have to trust in PLymouth that they would not hand out contracts to young players without recognising their potential, he scored 8 in 37 appearances for us which is a good return for a young midfielder.LikeaPatOutaHele wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 23:51 I disagree. Agree I'm pleased he's back, plenty of energy and he was good at making runs from midfield in support and generally in and around the box anticipating a chance. Imagine Hayfield will be back , will WJD and Hasani who I think has done well both play ? I must admit I've been a bit disappointed with Threlkeld so far, not influencing or having some sort of control in midfield as I expected.

I liked WJD and my best memory of him last season was him running 60 yards to get on the end of a cross from I think De Silva and score at the Babbacombe end.
Not as good as Randell but potentially a very good player who will benefit from 1st team football at TUFC for sure.

I believe this is a very sensible decision by the club. The only thing I am sure of with collins is that his level was below conference south and certainly at welling he was probably the worst player I have seen in a torquay shirt for many a season, with two out I anticipate an arrival soon.
Good luck to him. Hard worker, but epitomised our early season approach of functional over some creativity. Higher attendances and the community share issue obviously starting to affect the offering on the pitc so interesting to see the upgrades incoming.
TUST #324
New midfielder incoming apparently.
The kindest thing I can say about Collins was that he was absolutely hopeless.

They've got Joe Oastler and Scott Rendell already and also a certain Charlie Austin playing for them. They've climbed the ladder remarkably since the days when I used to play against them.

I really like Paul Wotton's interviews, he is very open, honest and thorough, for example about individual players injury situations. Such a refreshing change from cagey Gary Johnson.
I wonder who the player was who turned us down at the last minute.
