Feeling much more confident after Saturday's draw. Think that will have given some team confidence back after so long without a competitive match. Long trip for Worthing but they are one of the strong teams so defence will have to be on good form tomorrow. Nevertheless their defence has been leaky so expecting (hoping for) a 3-2 win although think we will concede first!

I’m going for a resounding 4-0 home win, with 3,500 in attendance.

Not sure what others think, but I’m not sure we have actually started any better than last year.Keithsson wrote: ↑21 Oct 2024, 13:41 'Twas your first home game of last season, and in all honesty it should've been five or six.
But so much has happened, to both clubs, since our double over you. We're still regrouping after a managerial change, you're thankfully still with us after an administration flirt and have started much better this season.
Head says the long old midweek poke will mean you win, heart says we're starting to hit some consistent form so we'll win. Conclusion... a draw, I'll also say a 'Desmond'.
After 11 games in October 2023 we were on 19 points in 7th place and won our 12th game 5-1 to be on 22 points in 4th. Then we lost at Weston and the wheels came off, but at this point I believe most were fairly content despite some very poor performances and a couple of lucky wins.
This year after 11 games we are on 21 points in 6th place, lose tonight and we will be in a lower league position and with fewer points and a worse GD than last year with a similar lack of consistency and a concern as to ‘which Torquay will turn up’.
After the turmoil of last season and the flirt with administration anyone would have taken where we are now and the budget is certainly much lower than last year, but on the pitch I can’t say we have progressed over 12 months.
Pretty sure when we beat Hemel in mid December we were second but I would rather have this team. The defence looks much more solid and more of a unit this season. Hopefully our attacking play and goalscoring will improve though may need another addition up front.
