New owners, new manager, new team. 15 odd games together over 4 months is it?

What does being the best supported club have to do with anything? We have more money and more noise away from home I guess. It also means most teams seem to raise their game when they play us.

It took Wotton 5 seasons to get Truro where he wanted and we all saw what a good team they were. He had to assemble a squad in around a month here, of course some weren’t going to work out and some he signs in the future won’t either. It takes time to get the right players, right mentality, the right style of play that they all understand and is second nature. He like every other manager is looking for the right players, he said so himself, one was meant to have signed but chose another club only last week.

We are a NLS team, we are at the very beginning of the process that will hopefully get us to the FL, but it will take years, not months to get it all right. No one wants to be in this division, but if this season and the next is one purely one of building in this division, then so be it. It’s great to have ambitions of promotion this season, but you also need a good dose of realism and accept and be ok if it doesn’t happen.
Because we have new owmers, new players and a new manager this does that preclude a moan when required, Wotton was willing to make the big step up from a part time team where if you are honest regardless of their results or performance he was never going to get the elbow. our expectations are a lot higher and rightly so. 15 games in is plenty to know not only whether players are up to the job or are capable of playing the way the manager requires, Even the dinosaur Johnson knew that simple fact.

People calling for strikers need to look at the opportunities created for the current ones. Not many.

Their second goal and ours were scored from low crosses into the box. So easy to score from such moves. Why don't we make more use of low crosses? For example, pulling back a cross from the byline onto the penalty spot where our forwards should / could be waiting to shoot. A move often seen in the Premiership.

Four of us coming up from Plymouth on Saturday - real Torquay, Argyle, Liverpool and Norwich fans and will make a boozy weekend of it. Looking forward to the Plainmoor atmosphere - plus 3pts for the Gulls of course! May even wear my Argyle scarf as long as it wouldn't cause offence....
