Many years ago I took my son to see Coventry City v Notts County in a midweek League Cup match. City brought on new signing Robbie Simpson who then scored twice and looked pretty good.
A month or so later we bought my son a hamster and he insisted on naming it Robbie Simpson.
Everytime I took that hamster to the vets, hearing that name called out always made me smile.....

2 points dropped. We missed 2 massive chances at 2-1 which would have killed the game. Main positive was Jordan Young who was brilliant. I hate to criticise refs I've been a ref myself and it's hard, but that was completely incompetent. Had no control of the game and that could be seen early on. Inconsistent decisions, gave out yellows for fouls which weren't even fouls and then missed so many clear free kicks. It was actually embarrassing.

The club were interviewing a possible candidate to be the lead commentator on club radio after today's match. I know him from another sport where he is Excellent. If he gets the job he would be a great "signing".......far better than the awful effort last season, when the comms was a lot of ums and ahs, worse still a long pregnant pause on numerous occasions.

Can anyone explain the point of Oscar Threlkeld?

Agree about the Ref. Awful. Must say though for large chunks of the game our midfield seemed to disappear. Young had a great debut. In the end I was glad to draw as I could see them sneaking a late winner. Trying hard but not flowing yet.

What a frustrating afternoon

2-0 and cruising and to let it slip is disappointing

Could have gone either way at the end

Showed that Chelmsford could make more subs to keep their energy up whilst we only made 1

Ref only added to the frustration not helped by 2 incompetent lines men

Will be interesting to see the replay on the disallowed goal

We missed a WJD but the game should have been killed off at 2-1 which some great chances for a 3rd

Great start from us, then a 15 minute spell where it seemed Chelmsford would score at will. Once they did score though, that was pretty much the end of their attacking threat. Couldn’t see much wrong with the disallowed goal, 3-1 and its game over.

We missed WJD, his energy in midfield makes a big difference. Young looks like he could be fantastic for us, pace, confidence and unafraid to shoot, some hefty challenges went unpunished on him.

Oscar, Wotton is telling him to do a certain job and it must not be his natural game as he seems a bit lost at the moment and unsure where he should be, his positioning etc.

Wotton obviously has no faith in Ash etc and you can see him moving on.

Disappointing result, however there are promising signs.

Fantastic attendance yet again.

Disappointing to say the least, first 20 we were as good as I have seen this season, then we allowed chelmsford to start playing football, down their right they controlled the match and foulston was done for pace so many times, when they came down the middle we evaporated in front of them, Threlkeld was on the team sheet but certainly not on the pitch, rather have played tomlinosn that tells you how bad he was. Carson had one of his least effective games, craske first half on the right wing constantly in acres of space but not once did anyone look up and pass to him.
Young is very good at this level ,a live wire and has a cracking shot on him.
Ref was terrible, would struggle to cope with under 11's.
As I got in the car I heard half of what jay pemburthy was saying to wotton as he questioned our defence , I actually heard wotton say he had no problems with our defence other than they had a free header for their first, sorry Paul you could not have watching the same game, our back three were so poor today they owe cooke and young their win bonus,

"I thought the team played well today," Wotton told BBC Radio Devon.

"We were 2-0 up, of course we should we should go on and win the game It's disappointing, but I thought we played really well today, it's the best we've played for a long time"

-----

I respect Paul Wotton but unfortunately this is not the mentality of a manager who is going to lead a team to the top of the table.

We need to put results like this to bed and set winning as the standard!
