I don't know why we are so cautious in the first half of games, WJD was playing so deep ,
afraid Mussa is not really offering much and shouldn't be starting ahead of Hasani - when he came on with WJD moving further forward with him and Hayfield dropping back a bit we looked much better

We really need to start playing with the mentality that we are the biggest and best team in the league.

I want to see the players strut onto the pitch, shoulders back, ready to go into battle.

The body language had weak performance written all over it.

I'm sure some momentum will build confidence, but in the absence of results, the will and determination has to be cultivated within each individual

Just a few weeks ago we witnessed the best match at Plainmoor for years, today we were served up one of the very worst. After just twenty minutes, it was obvious that both sides were clueless and a 0-0 draw would be the end result..... Another two points dropped at home, however still just a win away from the top but in reality a world away, in a P*** poor league. Very frustrating. We lack any leaders on the pitch, get Lapslie signed up, we need a fighter.

COYY.

I'm surprised at the critical comments on here personally. Yes, it wasn't great but credit to Tonbridge, they were full of energy and defended extremely well. It is very hard to break down such a defensive set up and today the players showed plenty of endeavour but just didn't get much luck. They scored a good goal and also robbed of a clear penalty.

I thought Ash worked his socks off and put a real shift in. He just didn't get a sniff in terms of scoring opportunities.

9 times out of 10 we win today and everyone's happy. Fine margins!

First half dull as dishwater. As already stated, why so much passing across the back line or passing back from midfield? No impetus or creativity and when in doubt just hoof it into the air. Ash got nowhere. Initially actually thought Mussa was running well and trying to find space but no-one looking for the runners. Hasani did bring some movement and fire in the second half but even then there were so many times we had no players in the box until the last 20 mins or so. We need to speed up passing and getting one-twos going as Tonbridge had so much time to set their defence. Sadly a lost 2 points. Must be more creative and quick on Tuesday.

Sometimes you've got to give your opponents due respect they've earned, Tonbridge we're well organised defensively.

With out possession they dropped into a line of 5 with 4 in front, our team went long to get past the 9 man block, the popside moaned, 'on the deck' was the shout, so the team started to try and pass through the low block which was always going require a certain amount of sideways backwards passing, to try pull them out of position, the popside moan then was 'forwads'

Sometimes I think when it comes to football a small percentage of the popside are retarded.

One of the very few things where I agreed with Johnson was that football is an entertainment business, win lose or draw you have at the bare minimum to send the fans home reasonably content, we have all been pleasantly surprised with our crowds being so high but logic dictates they will not continue if people go home not only disapointed but underwhelmed, when a team from the top meets a team closer to the bottom there is a reasonable expectation something positive should and will happen, that gets the floating fans through the gate, yesterday the tactics and starting eleven were wrong, we have seen ash as a target man on many occasions, it just does not work,it has never worked but something in the coaching team believes it will change this game. WJD is a creative midfielder so we play him as the holding player when hayfield was a far better option in terms of size and experience, we play sideways and backwards as a default, which has a place if the opposition come onto to you, from minute one tonbridge were not going to play that game, but we played the sideways/backwards game for a good 70 minutes. Mussa ,again great going forward but mainly beat himself because he took on one to many defenders, now watch him after these frequent events, he just stands still, and never attempts to make a recovery, Hamon must have had a good 20 clearances yesterday only two or three were passes out the rest were hoof ball which came straight back at us.I sit in bristows and I can assure you the commnets from this side of the ground were very simiilar to that of the popside, perhaps we are all retarded.

All the teams I have seen this season have been well organised and work hard , that's a given isn't it ?
You've got to get at them and unsettle them, no-one attempted to go past any of their defence for the first hour, just took the easy option and passed back or sideways.
Looking at the goal, do we all play the same offside law these days ?!! Do Nat South officials know the law has changed ? Dreyer was the only player who the linesman may have thought was in an offside position when the header flew across into the far corner but even he looked level and it wasn't an issue anyway as he wasn't in any way interfering with play, (obstructing the keepers view/defender playing the ball etc) - clearly these officials don't understand the 'new' rule

I have watched an excellent YouTube video made by the Tonbridge fans, they were well pleased with a point at a big(?) club like Torquay. The video clearly showed Jeffers coming from behind to head the goal.... everybody else was onside. Goal was incorrectly denied, their fans said that they had "got away with one". I think they are right.
