I have to agree with JM and the OP - it (PB's departure) shows a complete lack of respect for our club and does not reflect well on any of the three parties concerned (BRFC, PB and TUFC). It appears as though, to me at least, that our club have been almost too helpful in accommodating Paul Buckle and his ambition. There is a subtle difference between "not standing in his way" and "being walked over" and I suspect that we may have been guilty of the latter over the last few weeks. It should not have happened during our play off camapaign and I blame BRFC and Paul Buckle in the main for allowing that to happen.

The fact is that Paul Buckle is clearly very ambitious, totally ruthless and single minded. It is those sort of "qualities" that have got us where we are but it's not so nice being on the end of it now. I'm sure there are a few ex players ... Woods, Todd, Phillips, Carlisle, Hargreaves, Sills who would vouch for that .... not to mention the ex wife as well!

He (Buckle) has served us well and we move on. It is of course vitally important that we make the right appointment - if we fail to do that then there is every possibility that we could face a season of struggle as let's face it we don't do mid table safety do we? I just hope the Board gets it right and that they don't dither too much as we are already three weeks or more behind everyone else (Oxford have already signed FIVE new players!). Hopefully the new Manager will be in place by the end of this week at the latest, to delay any longer than that could be very costly in my opinion.

Mid Devon makes a valid point re Buckle and Exeter.......and his actions at the time of his appointment with us.
It all happened in the close season, mind.......Exeter missed out because they would not match the contacts that we were offering certain players, there was, to be fair, plenty of time to go for other targets to strengthen their side.

However disrespectful his actions towards them were......they aren't in the same league as this baby.
....aka jmgull.

Argyle: (derby)
Swindon: (benyon)
Crawley: (fa cup revenge)
Bristol Rovers: (buckle)
Bradford: (ross hannah)

Whatever happens, atleast we will pick up points against Shrewsbury.

Now that did make me laugh. Along with Dave Poughers "DeBuckle" both are the best things I've read all day.

I'm fed up of hearing that Buckle's 'ambitious'.

Quite frankly, I couldn't give two s**ts whether he's ambtious or not, he's got to be good enough to match it, is he? I'm not so sure. Torquay don't want some ego who thinks he's bigger and better than us at the club.

I'm ambitous, I want to manage Liverpool one day, and I want to win the Premiership with them. Will it ever happen? Unlikely :)

And yes Boom Boom made me larf as well

JM, CP spot on. Seems we're all feeling the same way. Bucks was developing into a decent manager, but has shown complete disrespect to our club, the board and it's supporters in the last two weeks. Has has no class, and he'll not be getting a warm welcome from me. Agree with the comment earlier - he'll be more annoyed by no reaction than an adverse one, so i'll not go out of my way to acknowledge him at all.

Was Bayes on the Stevenage playing squad... could've sworn I saw him running onto the pitch at the final whistle!?

Ashley Bayes was on the bench. Should've got him to sock Buckle one.

One thing i will find interesting is how he works with the personnel already at their club. With us he had a pretty much clean slate to build his squad with like 4 players on the books and even then he had personality clashes with some people at the club before they ended up leaving to pastures new. He might be forced to work with some people he won't like. Could see some dressing-room turmoil. Watch this space.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...
