Jane, I think that's right about Damon being his nephew.

I would absolutely LOVE IT if Buckle goes on one of his yearly 9 game losing streaks in October and gets sacked.

What price Bristol Rovers at home on Augsut 6th.
Quite a big one as we're asking the Football League to hold back our close home games until the end of the season when 'Bristow's Bench' is finished. Whether they'll listen is another thing.

I hope it is not an early meeting - passion is running too high for that at the moment.

as a slight aside here, just read that Roberto Martinez has turned down villa to remain at Wigan.

he always comes across as a nice guy, decent and honest, and clearly pretty loyal. some certain others could do worse than take a leaf out of his book. well done Roberto.

Funnily enough I felt exactly the same when I saw that news earlier in the day Regiment, it just shows there are some genuine people left in football.
The fact is the difference between Wigan and Villa is far greater than the difference between Rovers and Torquay - the way PB carried on you would think it was the first time we've played at this level since 1899. I'm far from convinced he will have it his own way there next season as he did with us and hopefully we will witness the hilarious consequences which will ensue. I know Trollope was there for about 5 years but their recent history suggests a club far from being settled - if Bucks goes on one of his famous losing streaks it could be curtains sooner rather than later.

I would be amazed if any contracted player would be sold before our new manager is in place, so hopefully it will not be Zebroski. For me Zeb, Kee and O'Kane are match winners and our new manager must be given an opportunity to talk with them and persuade them to stay.

That was kept very quiet about Damon being related to Buckle, or did I just miss it when we signed him?! Either way, he's contracted isn't he? It would be a huge shame to lose him, I think he came on leaps and bounds towards the end of the season.

Apologies, been in the USA since the first Shrews game and missed what seems to have been a torid few weeks. Has Danny Potter also left?? :scarf:

So the club released a half decent, and their only other keeper, when they knew Bevan would be out of contract and also probably leave! Sounds about right, is Veysey still at the club?

Bevan was offered a new contract with a pathetic wage increase and the board seemed to expect him to stay, then were completely in the dark when he left. Potter is a decent keeper but would want first time football and I don't think he'd get that here. He just isn't good enough to play for the entire season.
Luke.

I said a few days ago (Trucker), that we'd be losing other players, I did hear we had an offer from Rovers and immediately rejected it, apparently wanting double what was offered, I hope we get the figure I was given, a new manager is going to need some funding to get a side together that can at least fight to stay in the League.
