No wonder he jumped ship if Ling is confirmed.

Cult hero, brilliant defender and for me the main reason we went from fodder to contenders. He sorted us out at the back, and was just outstanding for us. We are so screwed for next season, hope is fading away.

had my rant earlier, calmed down a bit now, and agree with the opinion we may have had the best out of him, but would've liked him to stick around for another season, but again, i agree a 2 year deal may have been daft financially.
however, he was clearly as much of an influence off the pitch, so we'll definitely miss his all round leadership, and guidance for the younger players.
EDIT - by the way, good luck Guy, thanks for the last year and half, you were fantastic. cheers.

Can't blame the bloke, should have been given 2 years here in January, he's played up in Yorkshire for the majority of his career, Bradford will give him more moeny for 2 years and they are a club that at some point challenge at the top end. Massively underachieved last couple of years you get the feeling they are going for it next year.
Gutted we've lost the big man though, been a rock for us.

Well, one word Gutted. Why the hell didn't we offer him a new contract in the first place. He obviously liked it here and was keen to stay.
What a shambles.

Absolutely gutted. Can understand the club not wanting to risk two years on a 33 year old who has been known to have dips in form, but he was immense the season just gone and at the end of the one before for us, so I would have been willing to take a punt. He seemed to make others around him more confident. Both Ellis and Robbo are decent centre halfs but look like they need a leader next to them such as Branno. I do not understand why the club did not deal with contract issues in January rather than allow them to run out and then offer new contracts. Hope they learn their lessons from this and offer deals for the better players earlier in future, such as Eunan and Zebs. Going to need a massive rebuilding effort now having already lost Bevan, Branno, Stanley, Robinson and Tomlin from of our starting 11 from the end of the season.
No wonder he went when he heard they gave the job to Ling.

Echo the sentiments of others that although he was great, would he be great next season, i say up step Mark Ellis, potentially our best player and lets hope he gets a run in the side as once he has had five six games in a row he will start racking up those mom awards again like his last run in the side. thanks to branston, was def the cult hero for the last 18 months.
