I think we probably need to get over this obsession with Rovers now. We can t poke fun at a club for thinking they re big then continually talk about them in a manner that sounds like jealousy.

I like to think of it as "topical"!

There's no jealousy here, I've got nothing to be jealous of. I'd rather be a Torquay fan than a BR fan every day of the week.

Fair enough. Didn t suggest it was jealousy, merely that if we continue to discuss them, it might give that impression to visiting Gas. And we wouldn t want that.

To those too young to remember it, you don't know what you missed! :keepie:
Peter: So did your therapist figure out what the problem was?

Oh you might be jealous when we get the new stadium.

Rather people of devon did support the local teams quite frankly and not jumping on the funbus to Man Utd and Arsenal games every week.

Out of interest has there ever been talk of moving away from Plainmoor. I know you are building a new grandstand but there isnt much room for expansion there

and with our current crowds and the apathy around the 'bay towards THEIR CLUB there's no need for us to expand.... yet.

oh my word that footage was fantastic, brought back loads of memories of when i was a kid watching the gulls, forgot how much it has changed.the old mini stand with the concrete open space next to it, im sure the herald reported that is where cyril knowles used to get the 97/98 squad to train and play "murderball".i remember about 30 of us kids stood at the back of the mini stand singing along with the pop side (too young for the pop)also there was just a gate between mini and pop and people used to just walk around the ground.remember being stood in the open terrace end of the pop in the rain singing our asses off.turned up one afternoon to watch us play gillingham i think and a tree had fallen accross the terrace and the game was called off not long before kick off.also when we played scarborough in the 98 play off 2nd leg stood in the open terrace away end(the whole ground did a mexican wave)one of the best nights ever at plainmoor 4-1 (7-1 agg).im sure the ground used to have a lot more atmosphere. :scarf:
