The one who started this thread definitely isn't a Torquay fan.

All I said was "I doubt it is correct!". I was wrong and I apologised for that.

Think your claim is somewhat extreme!

Im sorry if you took it that way richinns but you did seem to be very quick to dismiss the earlier claim, and this does tend to put people off 'putting themselves out there'.

In respect to this chaps comments time will tell, and its a strange name to invent but his terminology regarding 'them' then 'us' concerns me.

It had nothing to do with the fact it was his first post - more the player he named.

Not in a million yeras did I think McPhee would ever wear a Torquay shirt again. Infact - I still now have to keep checking the Official Site to make sure its true! That is where my 'I doubt this is correct' came from and it was far from crushing.

I just sense alot of negativity from some posters and Im sorry to say your name is constantly invloved in the richinns. I saw your immediate reaction to the Ling appointment along with many others and thought it was a little unfair.

This game is all about opinions I guess but I feel we need to be a little more positive about what this club is doing.

Glad you are voicing your opinion and not hiding in the shadows. Your views are as important as mine or anybody elses and this is a great place to air them. Would never want to stop anybody posting them on here but questioning decisions, signings and posts etc is all part of what the forum is about.

For the record - I am still worried about Ling / McPhee etc but I really hope I am worrying for no reason. Happy to have my face rubbed in it if I am wrong!

One question. He seemingly hasn't signed for Derby yet. So how on earth have we already agreed a deal with them to loan him...?

I cannot see this being true, definitely not as a permanent signing. It sounds like Burton want good money for the lad, and we aren't in the business of splashing good cash on players. If we did i would rather it on a qulaity striker than a GK. The deal of Derby signing him then loaning him to us also sounds a bit of a stretch. Cannot imagine Derby doing a deal that complicated, imagine they would sign him then try loaning him out if they wanted him to get experience next season, not sign him and arrange a loan deal at the same time.

Would love to be proved wrong, but at the moment, I will only trust transfer rumours from teeboo (ML in disguise?)

They've signed him and loaned him to us before the first of those moves was even confirmed?

By all accounts this Derby deal has been on the cards for a while. With it being summer and footballers on holidays and stuff there probably has been a bit of time between Legzdins deciding to leave Burton and the potential move to Derby actually being signed and sealed.

Fielding has been signed since May, so maybe the discussion was we think you're good but i'm going with Frank and I'm happy for you to go out on loan for the season, something i'd imagine he would have possibly asked for. Seeing as though he's just got 2 POTS awards at Burton. There has obviously been in recent times contact between Derby and Torquay with the two young lads going there and Pringle coming here. Maybe there was a discussion, we need a keeper can we have Adam for the season, and he fancied it?

It's hard trying to justify something that isn't fact! But IF this is true, couple with there being some reason he doesn't want to go back to Burton or they don't want him back on loan, then maybe this scenario was somewhere near what happened.

It's not Ling that had any 'contact' with Derby for us previously though. So are we suggesting that like Oastler and Stevens, this is a player identified by 'others' at the club?

The US Government refused to acknowledge the existence of the SR-71 Blackbird until 1997, doesn't mean they didn't exist before then.

Quite possibly. I don't know what the relationship is between the club and Derby/Clough. Maybe someone is a friend of him that's high up on the club. Said to Ling look I can get us Adam Legzdins for the season if you want him, he would be bloody daft to say no.

Again it's tough trying to justify hear say but it wouldn't be the first time stuff like this has happened. Players sign for a club and instantly go out on loan to another.
